As a gardener, the first thing that struck me is that the gravel/rock mulch in the front beds will be miserable to maintain in any area that is able to grow grass that lush. Remove the gravel and any underlying landscape fabric, and plant with low shrubs (at least some evergreen) and a flowering evergreen groundcover. Mulch well with an organic material such as shredded bark mulch. For any more creative suggestions, we would need to know where you are, the growing conditions as far as light and moisture, and a set of photos taken closer to the house that show what is available for space. It might be that adding to or entirely removing the planting beds will be an improvement. Most homes would look better with wider entrance walks and a generous landing at the base of the steps, but we can’t see yours, so closer photos would get better suggestions. Choose a different color palette, making sure that the colors reflect or at least coordinate well with some of the hues in your brick. Again, I can’t really see colors well with the wash of shadow and somewhat distant photo. Some of the big paint manufacturers have website gizmos where you can upload a photo and try out different colors, or if you are comfortable with Photoshop, you can use that. I am not a fan of painting or whitewashing brick because it adds maintenance and is a trend that I think will have a limited shelf life (think avocado appliances in the 60s), but I also think it would look totally unsuitable for the style of your home. Definitely replace the garage doors, not only for style, but also to have a color that isn’t in such stark contrast to the brick. You don’t want to draw attention to the garage door since it is the least architecturally interesting part of the house, so use color to help it melt into the background. Windows would also help break up the garage door slab. it looks like you might be on a corner lot, so having photos that show what is currently off to the right and left of the current photo will help look at the landscape as a whole.

Well, painting our doors is taking much more time than anticipated! Partly bc we decided to take them off to lay flat and spray for a smoother finish. Plus my husband decided to work on building our shed yesterday so i had to wait for help on a few occasions. But we need a shed so that’s ok! Prep took forever bc the doors are not in great shape. And those darn windows! But I got both doors prepped and we sprayed 1 coat of primer on 1 door. But then couldn’t move it right away and then had to hang them before dark! So we will finish this weekend! I’ll post pics when done. Thank you!

I like what you have there as well, better than the new choices. The graphic rug works with the front door. The floor is already off color, adding more colors will not help. The shape of the bench also works with the front door scroll better than the new choice. Unless you change the door and floor, I prefer what is there. Keep looking, it's been a few years there's no reason to rush. If you want to upscale, I'd look for a hand knotted rug (there are now some very modern choices) and stay with a bench that has slim legs and a slim seat. The brown bench reminds me of a pommel horse.

Widen the walkway to the front door. Right now it's difficult to tell whether the entry is on the path on the right or the path on the left. You don't have to curve it since people will naturally want to take the shortest path to their destination. You could even just line the outside of the existing walkway with another material (stone, brick, stained concrete, etc) to add interest. Trim the shrubs back from the walkway. Right now they are completely obscuring that there is an entry when you're standing in front of the house. The goal is for people to see where the entry is and feel invited to walk there. You could consider re-landscaping the whole front bed or along the walkway if you like, but at a minimum that hedge needs to be trimmed back. Our minds are also naturally drawn to walk towards light. Right now it looks like you have a single small light to the left of the door. I wonder if putting a larger light there and maybe adding more lights (one maybe at the very end to the right of the door) to entice people to walk towards your door would help.
