Need color inspiration for open plan rooms
Comments (6)I'm bumping this 'cos I'd love more input. We could maybe get more tiles, but that doesn't address the fundamental problem of a paint color that will work with the yellow-tone tiles and the red-tone maple. We purchased several red paint samples from SW. Didn't like any. Also tried to match the darker gold color tile--still no success, but some of the bronzes look promising. Please be honest - Would darkening the grout help? Is the white paint too cold? Would a deep bronze-y color on all walls look too dark? Note, wall with fridge extends into living room, past a foyer that will have Retro Metro Rust and Gold Retro Toss wallpaper. Help! Again, here's tile: Tile wall view: And fridge wall view:...See MoreFinished: Traditional with copper pots, marble table, wood ctops
Comments (54)Beautiful and so functional! Love the warmth of the copper, countertops, and floor against the coolness of the marble and stainless. You obviously labored long and hard to get the details right (ceiling, columns, cab feet, bumpouts, islands). You did the same in the PR: vessel sink, farm house pump faucet, open shelves, and beautiful paint. I don't have a big kitchen either and am always looking for ideas to pack in more function. Glad to hear you love your 2-in-1 oven. I'm planning to use that, too. What stains did you use on your beautiful floor and countertops (brand and color, please)? We have stained trim throughout the house and your colors (both floor and countertop) look like they would blend well with our trim color. TIA! Enjoy your wonderful kitchen and PR! Thank you so much, and I hope you'll take the time to put your kitchen in the FKB!...See MoreCopper countertops a resale success! (retroactive reveal)
Comments (41)Circuspeanut, I've always loved your kitchen. I remember when you revealed the beautiful copper counters and tiled hood--so lovely! And I'm in awe that you and DH DIY'd it. Your kitchen is so wonderfully functional (open shelves by the fridge, pot rack, peninsula with sink) and warm and comfortable--perfect for a glass of milk and some cookies! Congratulations on selling it so quickly and at an optimum price (not surprising to me). I look forward to following your new renovation!...See More99% finished ocean inspired kitchen
Comments (49)Emily- I like the MW under the counter...certainly better than taking up counter space by my cooktop! I will say that I don't use the MW a ton. I use it for Easy Mac for the kids, frozen veggies, popcorn, heating water for instant oatmeal. I don't have a great back, but it doesn't bother me to get stuff in and out. But I use it less than 1 per day. On the other hand, I'm hoping the kids (3 and 6)will be able to use it soon, so low is good. Thanks for all the compliments, hopefully I will have some updated shots of the nook area soon. They are building my banquette. I was hoping to be done by Christmas, but it maybe a bit longer to get all the window treatments done....See Moremotherbrown
