Please help me decorate/organize/layout my very small office!
Comments (16)It depends on what you do in the office and how much you want to spend, but I would: Get rid of the rug entirely and leave the floor au natural, but add a desk chair mat under your chair to protect the floor. Add a few tall shelves or bookcases, depending on what you need them for (files vs equipment vs books) -- Ikea has some nice options that aren't expensive and are easy to assemble. I'd add colour to the window covering (different drape? coloured tie?) and then decide if you want art work/photos and/or a corkboard/white board. If your peripherals (like printers, etc) are small, you may want to consider something like Ikea's Kallax series, because they could fit in some of the boxes, while you use others for books or baskets. I wish I'd thought of that before I got the storage unit I did....See MorePlease, Help to decorate a home office!
Comments (3)If you pull the desks away from the wall, and place storage behind your office chair, you can easily swivel around to that storage. As far as the walls go, I would wait until you were comfortable with the desk placement and then do a grouping or two of photos, or art. But I would also encourage you to purchase art from your local gallery to support the local talent. You could then find something that has color and movement to finish the space. Don't forget to get two plastic mats for under those chairs to save the flooring. And a big floor plant would love that window....See MoreHelp decorating home office, please
Comments (12)Thanks, Flo! I think based on the rug and desk, my colors are black, white, gold, and pink, with some touches of green. Because the desk is black and gold it feels like it could fit with an eclectic & modern Hollywood glam vibe. With the addition of that chair, or something similar, I am thinking the art could be a few colorful statement pieces? And the storage could be an all white or all black file cabinet in something other than metal?...See MoreSmall Girl Bedroom With No Closet- Floor Plan and Decor Advice Please!
Comments (53)Those Pax wardrobes are fabulous storage options. I'd go with white, for sure. The Pax didn't work in our bedroom but I think it's partly because they were at the entrance of the room. Surrounding the window as you have it in your layout would work heaps better. They look great in Lyfia's pics. I'm also short and feel claustrophobic with tall furniture so that's my bias....See MoreStinaGene LLC
