Slonewby picked a BackSplash!!!!!!
Comments (27)Thank you everyone! I'm so happy to have found this cream....after looking at so many different ones! Here is the info: From the sample board.... Manhatten Series MN11/B36 Cream 3X6 beveled edge Best yet, the price is just $4.68 per sq foot! Honestly, I've been looking at tiles that range from $6-$31 per square foot. To think that my very favorite is under $5 really amazes (and delights!) me! I can't wait to post photos of the finished project....right now I have to order more switchplate covers!...See MoreBacksplash? No backsplash? What kind of backsplash?
Comments (25)didn't have time to read all the answers. I have no backsplash and have never regretted it...been over 6 yrs. It is painted with BM matte...which has ceramic in it. It is as beautiful now as it was when first painted. I love the fact that I can showcase other things ...art etc in my kitchen and no competition. Also if I ever want to change it is as quick as a paint brush...expense is minimal..paint only ! All in all I think it is serene as you point out . Here is one pick. Since I have a lot of high heat cooking in my kitchen..built in deep fat fryer as well as gas cook top I can definitely speak to the longevity of paint only. c ( more at this album )...See MoreTime to pick a backsplash
Comments (23)Ok, sounds like most think the dark is too dark and reads black. That's pretty accurate in the space also....unless the sun is hitting it or the under cabinet lights are on, it looks mostly black. Back to focusing on the lighter options..... I had looked at the Winchester Tiles but wrote them off as I didn't think I could get samples since they were in the UK. I just sent them an email to inquire on a couple of samples. They look beautiful! Of the samples that I had already collected, here are my top choices with other images from the websites or Google. These are all tiles that read warmer but are still blue. With the exception of the WZ Robert AM Stern one...that one is mostly taupe. That one also has no variation in color in the gloss finish. Some of the colors come in different glazes, but not sure about the Cape Cod color. Lots of shapes though. From the original picture. Vermeere Dark Ocean Breeze Gloss pic from their website. Comes in rectangle and squares. WZ Cape Cod from their website in Gloss. I don't see much variation in color. Nabi Artic Blue from their website Fireclay Powder Blue from their website...See MoreHELP! Kitchen backsplash time
Comments (7)Ok cool! It just felt counter intuitive to do a regular backsplash but I never knew how to handle the kitchen/entry transition. Then I saw a similar layout at our local IKEA and the had stopped the tile where the cabinets ended and it looked very natural. Plus, as I first thought of a charcoal tile (based on a paint suggestion from Beth before we even started the kitchen) I thought it would be a cleaner and calmer look than your regular to the bottom of the wall cabs tile. However, I’ve been going back and forth between white and charcoal tile for a few months now.. especially since hubby decided he wanted a really big TV on our LV wall which is in the same area as the kitchen I have been leaning towards a darker color.. we’ll see.. :)...See Moreeld6161
