What paint color to go with this multi-colored hardwood? Help!
Hi everyone! Hoping to get ideas on our main interior paint color. My partner and I just purchased our first home (it's a cute 1.5 story brick home). The previous owner replaced the old flooring with this warm multi-colored hardwood, I think it's hickory? This flooring is basically used throughout the main floor living and dining and also upstairs. I've always wanted to paint my main living areas white or light gray and the current color they chose is too beige for my taste.
What is a good white/ light gray color to go with this flooring? The floor is growing on me but choosing a paint color is daunting! I like White Dove by BM but I'm afraid it will be too warm?
I'm thinking of modern farmhouse for the overall "vibe" of the home :)

You might consider these? But they would need careful testing in your space, as they are prone to colour shift in imbalanced light. (Not directly on to the walls though, but either on board or Paint,Peel,Stick decals, so that you might move them around)

what color hardwood to go with maple cabinets?
Comments (1)It just so happens we are building a new home with natural maple cabinets and brazilian cherry floors. We have looked at this combination at a few open houses recently and, in our opinion, it looks great. Our only reservation is moving furniture and rugs around while the cherry "turns" into its beautiful color. Comments (12)We were considering mixing 3" and 5", but DH was concerned about differences in manufacturing tolerances not allowing the tongues and grooves to fit together as well as all one width/lot. So we did what installer called "herringbone" pattern but I call it "picture frame". It's a rectangular spiral starting at the walls and ending in the center. Of course, now I've covered it with a rug and furniture, but it would be great in a more open room. Hard to see the whole floor, but here you can see the edges of the main floor. Comments (2)Thank you for this suggestion... I am torn as well with the remodel of this 25 yr old home. I chose cherry floors, SW Sand Beach paint with BM White Dove trim. Nothing as grand as the house above, my ceiling are low, lighting was a challenge, plus kitchen has cherry cabinets as well. I am going with a quartz countertop with a marble look to lighten up the kitchen. Everything piece of trim was solid oak in the house. Now on the window treatments and furniture.
