Living room is open to dining room and entry way
Comments (29)Beautiful rooms and paint color, minuscule. I will have a look at BM Silver Mist. I like the Accessible Beige but Dear Husband does not. He says it looks dirty. It exactly matches some of the tones in the flooring and is nearly identical to the fireplace surround, and extremely close to the couch color, which would make the couches sort of disappear and an accent wall color for the fireplace wall necessary. SW Accessible Beige on top, SW Creamy on the bottom. SW Creamy is really yellow. Too yellow. Such a tall wall. Was thinking about adding some trim like this (not in Georgian style because mine is not a Georgian style house) to break up the blankness a bit. I will look at BM Silver Mist and for something slightly lighter than Healing Aloe. Dear Husband liked the look of BM Constellation...See MoreShoe/coat storage for a long and narrow living room with bay windows
Comments (28)Alas never took a photo of it as far as I can remember. This one is similar and looks to be about the same size. MIne had more detail outside but no drawers. I was looking for a larger piece but the labels on the shelves won my heart and being small it fit nicely into the small bedroom. Celestina, I had a half rack of that sort of design made of cast metal that might have been brass that fit nicely in the front hall. Fastened to studs it took up far less room and couldn't fall over. Sold that on eBay long ago and had never seen anything like it since until just now. Pictures are upside down but it is exactly the same design. If you could find a shoe cubby that looked okay with the old fashioned vibe it would terrific looking so long as you manage to keep it cleared off. You wouldn't think something that simple could hold so much! I really like the pieces acm found particularly the wood and metal 3 shelf one. Just work really hard to keep the number of things hung to a dull roar....See MoreDesign help? 2 living rooms? Huge entry way?
Comments (8)Good idea to add doors to converted garage and use it as an office/play room. If you use the sectional in the original living rm., can you remove the middle seat area to make it shorter? Then put it in front of the living rm window and your t.v. and console opposite on wall next to pantry bump out. There will be more walking room to office/playrm. Unfortunate your sectional ends can't be reversed for this reason. Or keep current sectional in office and put new furniture in original living area that will fit the space, such as a shorter sofa under the window and two chairs. Or shorter sofa to make an entrance corridor along front door area and chairs in front of window. Add taller bookcase to bump out area and another chair angled along back of kitchen wall next to t.v. console....See MoreRug in a long, narrow living room with walkways
Comments (31)Because the sectional can be changed and for better tv viewing and traffic flow. Very rough sketch. Everything could move closer to the windows if you wanted to add a sofa table behind the entry couch leaving just a walkway in front of the windows. Or if room possible to add 2 smaller chairs with table between at the window with walkway in front of them. start with the rug centered a foot in front of the fireplace /tv wall and place the furniture from there....See Morepartim
