I just assumed they are all hardy and didn't even take that into consideration, to be honest with you. I received 17 varieties - after they arrived I potted them up in the greenhouse cause the rock garden wasn't yet ready, and I had somewhere around 40 pots from those 17 varieties - Cavendish is quite generous! I like them all, really, but I've noticed Damask is quite nice with a dark red center and greener outer, Plastic is interesting - green but very shiny and rounded edges, Legolas and Plumb Rose held the purple colour all summer, Raspberry Ice is gorgeous. The rest of my order included Red Ace, Aross, Packardian, Pacific Sonata, Festival, Fuego, Director Jacobs, Lynn's Choice, Blue Boy, Lilac Time, Butterbur, and Magnificum. As I said, I like them all. And I want to order more! But i need to build another rock garden, I guess, or maybe a Semp garden - just semps and rocks. Hmm...

She might be confused, I only got her last fall. But, she did live in NC, which is close to here, and has similar weather. ?? I am in Northern Texas, so things are chugging along nicely! There is no one around here that sells daylilies really. I have ordered from Maryotts, Daylily Manor, Floyd Cove, Blueridge, Goldcoast, Marietta, Moons Farm, Ladybugs, Quarles and all were fantastic. I am sure there are a few more I am forgetting... I also have ordered from the Lily Auction - from Knobhill and Oldrep are two that I can recall off hand. That one and Topguns Pink Lemonade I actually got from a local daylily sale, and I had no idea what they were when I picked them up... I just had a feeling... I wonder what it could be if not FTP? I bought that one locally...but it totally would not surprise me if it turned out to be a seedling of FTP, and they potted it up and sold it. It is a tiny place that propagates a lot of their own stuff. See how it has a very faint eye ring?? My 3 year old Rock Rose is just now coming out and getting ready to bloom...have lots of babies growing like crazy that I need to find new homes for. My Russian Sage is just beginning, even the 3 yr old plant that is about 5 feet wide. All the rain has made all of the Russian Sage huge! Sadly, I have no bees to enjoy it! I have seen maybe 3 bees over the last 2 weeks and all of them were on the ground walking but not on flowers...just on the ground. FINALLY! Have 6 Lantanas in bloom, plus 2 with buds about to open and one that I swapped for recently that is just now putting leaves out. Had a visit from a Mourning Cloak Nymphalis antiopa butterfly yesterday but learned that it does not nectar at flowers...prefers tree sap! Hackberry is a host plant for cats and we have a Hackberry Tree! Last year it was covered with American Snouts at one point. Peggy

This is a case where a Google search for Clematis tangutica and then clicking on "image" would be of help. When I did that there were a number of photos of the entire plant amongst the many close-ups, sometimes in bloom and sometimes with seed heads. It obviously gets huge since some of them showed the plant well over the top of large arches and arbors.
