Comments (3)You're welcome Maureen! I'm not great with "web-stuff" but the one thing I do know how to do is edit my page. It can be so frustrating! And I don't have anyone to help me. Good luck with it! HW...See MoreHow do I add interest to my foyer? No room for furnishings
Comments (9)Great ideas. I do like the idea of the wall niche. Thanks for posting the site. DH is going to love this. We just finished ripping down wallpaper and repainting the foyer. He'll be happy to know I now want him to cut a hole in the wall. I am having trouble posting pictures. Something is wrong with the port on my camera. When DH gets home I will see if he can get it to work....See MoreLove my new foyer bench ! How do I decorate around it?
Comments (3)Can you take a straight on shot of the foyer so we can better see the area rug placement? From looking at the floor on the sides of the walls it looks like it's off center. That would bug me. I think I'd prefer a long runner. How wide is the entrance/hall? Maybe a small area rug at the door and then a runner. Very pretty house! I'd leave your console with mirror as is. It looks nice. I really like the bench but that's a long wall. I like the above suggestions. I also wondered about doing three related groupings. Something right over the bench and one on each side. Whatever you do with art I think large. I think the photos and diploma frames are too small. If you want to use them I'd get larger frames and mat them. Are they 8x10s? At least 11x14s and you can easily find mats and frames inexpensively for that size. ETA- Looking again, it looks like the bench is centered on that wall and the area rug intrudes into it's space. I think we need to see a different view of the foyer area but I think (hard to tell) if you keep the rug the bench would look better moved down more to the left. With art then above it it would be anchored and look intentional event though it's not centered on the wall. I had to do this with my foyer. The buffet I have is moved down because of the door so the mirror and buffet aren't centered but it doesn't look weird if that makes sense. Also, could you put the front feet of the console over the area rug so that it's centered? Again, hard to tell. These suggestions may not work but things to consider/try!...See MoreHow do I decorate my kitchen with Dark-Brown cabinets?
Comments (12)is this a rental? I ask because that florescent light in the kitchen is horrible. why someone would go to all the trouble of redoing the kitchen and leaving that cheap light is beyond me. The kitchen is great looking! With a proper light fixture, I think the colors would look better. this light is inexpensive. It also gives you 4 bulbs. Bring in some LED 60W bulbs in the cool light temp (4000K) and the entire kitchen would light up! If you rent, ask your landlord if you buy the light, can it be switched. it's not a big deal to do it. very simple. If it's yours, ask a friend to help you. Then bring in a runner (say a 2.6" X 8' size) to go in front of the sink area color is up to you. everything is pretty neutral, so get something you like. Then bring in some wood cutting boards, some color w/pots or vases, maybe some plants (faux is fine) I would be tempted to paint that end wall a dark color and add some art or something or cutting boards, vintage kitchen things i think black would look good. this one is chalkboard paint, but a deep black w/some cool art, or do a medium gray and add colorful pictures since everything is very neutral. you could also put one of those magnetic knife holders on the wall. and art....See MoreRelated Professionals
