Need ideas to spruce up the exterior of our '30s house
Comments (14)Thank you for all the great ideas! We're definitely going to go with a wood door and I can see that removing the shutters completely is a good idea, although I wonder if I could get away with just one pair in the larger window. I do want to get away from the brown though and go with a lighter color (maybe light taupe) for the entire house (including the parts painted brown). My husband would like to put some scallops up there like some other houses in the area have. We plan on replacing the wood fence with a brick wall. I'm also trying to talk him into adding a "porch" by replacing the bushes in front of the house (which are old and woody) with brick and putting a trellis in that area designed to look porch-like. I've seen some in the neighborhood that look really nice. Thanks again for the comments and suggestions!...See MoreExterior paint color ideas to take our house from drab to fab!

Comments (0)Hello y’all! Just purchased my first home here in Texas, and somewhat stumped on where to begin my exterior makeover. My main concern is the brick “knee wall” that is connected to the garage, which covers our front patio. My wife seems to like it, but I feel that it hides the house and it needs a little “something” to add more curb appeal. I was considering horizontal wood slats placed on the surface.. but still not sure. I was planning on painting the brick as well, but indecisive as to what color. (Leaning towards white or dark grey) Any input would be greatly appreciated!...See MoreLooking for costal color ideas for the exterior of our house.
Comments (5)Thank you. I appreciate the color ideas! We are looking to change the deck color as well. Roof is black - if you can’t see it. A side note - those small shrubs are newer Next project will be landscaping, but one thing at a time....See Moreparty_music50
