Hardest Non Porous White-Grey Quartzites?
Comments (35)I didnt pick out the paint color for the master bath, only the master bedroom. The floor tile is in the picture at the bottom, light in color. CP I feel so bad for your sister and completely understand why she feels the way she does. I put the sample in water, it absorbed it quickly and lemon did etch BUT it also scratched glass easily. The etching left behind was smooth. Kim yikes on the price! My slab is 84/sq ft. Jan I am utilizing the slab for the laundry, master and guest bath because I do not want to waste it and you have to buy the slab. I really liked this slab but may go look for something else at another yard. I appreciate everyone's help and suggestions and am planning on speaking to my fabricator. I knew there were lots of quartzites out there and some are harder than others and some etch and some stain. Am thankful for people posting to let me know how their quartzites are holding up. I love the fusion quartzites but bet they are expensive. I am kind of bored with granite. The quartzites are so beautiful and have that wow factor....See MoreGray/Blue Quartzite Counter Stains? Comments (19)Sorry for late response to both of you. I don't have any other pictures at the moment, sorry. @AmyK we used a hair dryer to get one ring mostly off and one about half gone. Haven't tried ever since; the pandemic and everything has side-tracked us. We haven't been able to reseal it either, although because we know what stains it, we've figured out how to mostly avoid more issues. We typically just put down a towel in the most-used area and just ensure we wipe everything up (water, juice, etc.) before it penetrates the stone....See MoreQuartzite Stain
Comments (14)Let it dry out and then reseal until water beads up. It may take many coats. I used Tenax Proseal on a porous granite in a bathroom and it has worked really well. I used Tenax Skudo on granite counters in our kitchen in a previous house and it worked great as well. Counters looked just as good when we moved out after 14 years. No stains. Sealed them with several coats of sealer once and never had issues in the 14 years we lived there....See MoreWhite Polished 3cm Quartz or Grey Leathered 2cm Quartzite for kitchen?
Comments (15)Real stone is overrated IMO. It has man-made processes applied to it to make it suitable for residential kitchens, as well as sealers, so being more ‘real’ is just marketing in my book, particularly for a surface you’re going to be cooking and eating off of. A sterile man-made product that is easy to clean makes more sense in a kitchen environment to me personally, which is why we chose white solid surface for our remodel. Our second choice was white quartz. It’s easy to tell if it’s clean and maintenance is a breeze. There are many many threads here on quartzite getting water ‘stains’ around the sink, seems, and stove, issues with sealing, issues with food stains and etching, poultices being applied, etc. The pale colors can be unforgiving. I personally think real stone is not a great choice for residential kitchen applications, at least not for working kitchens in the suburbs. In kitchens that see limited use where it’s all for show, or in old traditional working kitchens that utilize marble and embrace the patina, I can see the appeal more....See MoreHU-276779925
