Are you thinking of replacing the brick with shakes? What material is the white gable, the side and the back? What colors do you like?

No shakes and this is one of my favorite color combos with brick and I would do all the siding this color and the window trim and remove the shutters. Then just liven up the landscaping.

I think it is the white that is throwing it off. I would also remove the shutters on the double windows, if not all of the windows.

I don’t love the brick. I really want the house to be fresh and clean. It goes without saying that the landscaping will be replaced

In my opinion, your house looks fresh and clean! Patricia recommended nice colors. It’s the light color that could be painted. Very cute house.

I would do a wash of some sort over the brick, in the tan/taupe family. I also see spotty, busy bricks with the variation in color of the current brick. The house has a timeless facade and can really be improved.

I like the green color Patricia suggested. You don’t see that often with red brick.

What I see when I first look at your photo is that the siding color is a match to the lightest color in your brick, which makes those brick JUMP out at you. I would go ahead and remove the shutters as they aren't appropriate on most of your windows (you could leave them on the two upper story windows) and then paint the siding and trim one of the darker tones in the brick (actually the garage door color isn't bad).
