Wolf or Thermador steam ovens and which convection oven?
Comments (3)I have the Thermador steam oven. Like it. The electronics panel did die after a few months, Thermador replaced immediately. The reservoir works fine. I've never cooked anything that required more than one carafe full of water. Wolf touts the ability to fill the reservoir while cooking. If you do need to add with the Thermador, just pause the cooking, fill up and keep going....See Morebosch convection oven and steam oven vs. miele or wolf?
Comments (22)We're building a new house and the placement of the appliances is pretty much fixed at this point. We didn't have any idea of how tricky this would be. Speed oven, Steam oven plus 30" convection oven and induction cooktop. Where to put them all? And how to decide which manufacturer so that they all match, without breaking the bank? We're thinking that the 30" Convection oven will be the one we use least. The Miele Steam seems better than the Bosch, but that means we have to make everything Miele to match. Miele 30 " convection is a lot more expensive than the Bosch. And how many of you have a Speed oven and what do you use it for? Currently, we use a Microwave to heat a bowl of soup, or warm up coffee, or reheat leftovers. We roast a lot of chicken and use a Convection oven..same with fish. We're a retired couple so it's mostly the 2 of us, and wonder how often we'll have a crowd and use everything at once. Plus, we're moving to FL and will have a good grill with a rotisserie, so will have that option too. Also wondering about a plain Microwave +Combi Steam+ Convection set up. But we're thinking that for resale value, we should have a Speed Oven. Can any of you tell me which appliances you use the most and do you have any experience with Bosch cooking appliances? And has anyone out there ever installed a wall oven under a cooktop, rather than buying a slide in or built in stove?...See More24" Wolf Wall Oven - not steam or speed?
Comments (5)Any reason you don't want a steam or speed oven? Aside from the added cost (which of course isn't an entirely trivial concern), there really isn't much, if any, downside to them (particularly with Miele which has a broiler) and a steam oven in particular really allows you do to things you just can't do with a regular oven....See MoreConvection steam oven coupled with speed oven but no large oven??
Comments (6)If you type “Combi Steam Speed no other oven” in the search box in Discussions/Appliances you will get many threads on this topic. The down side I would see is not all of your larger pans such as half sheet/cookie/large roasters/pizza stones/etc may fit in either oven. In the case of miele the speed and combi steam ovens max out at 435 degrees and the broiler is not as strong as a full size oven. It could also be an issue down the road for resell as the cabinets would need significant rework to incorporate a traditional 30” oven. That may or may not be an issue for you. The cleaning aspect is another consideration as self clean may not be an option. (I use self clean on my miele Convection oven - 5+ years and no problems). I was fortunate to be able to include a 30” wall/combi steam/speed (all Miele) in my kitchen. If I had a choice I would have nixed the speed and found a place to house an inexpensive microwave hidden either in a cabinet or my walk in pantry (I still have my old toaster oven there and use it occasionally). Since I have a combi steam and induction - I rarely I use my micro....See MoreILoveRed
