Butterflies and bats

Ok, probably a strange question to ask, but do butterflies in some way utilize bat droppings? I have some bats roosting behind a large decorative thing above my garage and naturally there are droppings on the cement below it. Messy but easy enough to sweep away. What I've noticed when I open the garage door is that butterflies are hanging around the droppings --- mostly swallowtails (I think -- they're black with blue circles) and I thought I saw a small monarch. Curious are to what the butterflies are doing with the droppings -- eating or extracting the moisture? Something else?
