Home Reborn, that's my door. And it's not paint. both the door and the trim are solid oak and stained w/both an ebony aniline dye, and ebony gel stain. Sorry you think it's too heavy. In person, it's not. You can clearly see the wood grain. Black photographs horribly unless you're a pro photographer. I realize it's not everyones cup of tea, but it's my master bedroom/bathroom and I'm the only one that sees it. I did my black windows w/the same oak trim (which btw, I did all the staining myself) I also painted this window black, but it was wood, not vinyl. Same size trim as the door. Still too heavy? I don't think so. In my kitchen I did solid walnut (which I stained and cut) around my black french casement window In my other room, I have the white trim and the black french doors. (This room is not completed though. Kolbe Forgent black exterior windows have several white interior options: 1) white Glastra, 2) white factory painted wood, and 3) primed wood. They are also available in several wood species in case you want to stain them. Their wood interiors are an over-layment that attaches to the fiberglass interior, so the wood is not exposed to the elements outside. I just installed black exterior/white wood interior windows 6 months ago and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them and would make the same purchase again. The Glastra window frames themselves only come in two colors: white and tan (Sahara). Then, if you want black or bronze, they paint a very nice and durable coating over the white or tan Glastra/fiberglass window frames. On the outside, the entire frame is coated. On the inside, there is a portion of the frame that is uncoated, so you will see a difference between the bronze/black and the white or tan frame. (I am speaking only about casement windows and can't speak to what they do on other window types.) See photos below.

The first photo is witb screens- the others are not. The screens help on some windows but not on others and unfortunately the worst ones are right by the front entry and the angle of the walk makes them super obvious. I’ve looked at other companies since the issue came to light and they are at least up front with the information rather than only taking straight on photos. Most white areas are also smaller. Also worth noting that window word does paint the jams if you get the interior painted the same color so they can be painted. They say the paint issue is an equiptment issue because theyd get too much overspray if they did that but there is overspray on every window as is
