Thanks everyone for the compliments and great ideas! I do have a painting I love that I bought in Montreal from a local artist that I have been meaning to put up but have yet to find a space for. It is not quite big enough. Maybe if I can find a large mat and frame it could work, that or place two, one on top of the other. I bought a vintage map of New Orleans while we were there that I also love. I will try and see if they might go together. I kept thinking I wanted a mirror bc I love the way the lamp light bounces off the mirror and brightens up the space. I also worry that the lamp light might just reflect the top glass of the art. I will play around with it and see what I might prefer. In regards to all of the beautiful mirror ideas, I would likely have to spend a larger sum of money that I might want to and my husband would probably not like that idea. lol I will keep you all posted and thank you ALL for taking the time to post ideas and photos!

To me there needs to be a purpose for things to make sense. So what is the purpose of that console table being there? Do you need lighting (so you need a lamp on it)? If you don't NEED it to be there, then that's your cue that it doesn't belong there. I really can't see what you would put in a basket right there, so I would not start trying to decorate with just more things that don't make sense. I can't see any purpose that that table would play there, so I would remove it. And instead of those 4 pictures, I would hang one large piece of art.

I may get another mirror table top but I still need the big mirror for my hair and things. a lil mirror will not do just for my makeup etc. I always said the writting desk was going to be use as vanity and act as a area you can use for your laptop. I agree with the console table. I am thinking about doing like a rectangular gold dish and a orchid plant. I wanted him to place the TV at that height just in case I was going to add some type of tall vase or pillars candles.

It’s great that you like color. You have a really nice space. I think you know your style and what you would like to see in the room. When you say all you want to keep is the red pot/vase - maybe that is all the console needs. Your view out the window looks like it’s very nice. And the red vase is striking by itself, so with just that piece, your view would also be a clearer focal point. I love the horse piece, and am thinking maybe that piece should take center stage in another spot.
