What color do I paint my walls to make my ivory lace look more creamy?

I recently had my cabinets painted Ivory lace. In my kitchen it turned out very bright white. I live in the woods and like more of a rustic look rather than the modern bright white. I want the cabinets to stay light and not have to change them at all if changing the wall colors would help. They are SW accessible beige and taupe tone. I also feel the paint colors have a dark feel to them as I only have 1 west facing window. Please Help!!

I know you are asking a question about paint, but @herbflavor is correct, you have an issue with lighting too. You have tried to address that by adding task lighting to your soffit, but you really need under cabinet lighting, and can lighting in the ceiling, budget permitting.

You also have two backsplashes, and that mosaic tile should come out, leaving you with drywall that can be painted to bring light into that under cabinet space.

As for the paint, you are complaining that the cabinets are too bright and the colors are too dark. Your choices for cabinets and walls are below. As @anna_682 asks, are you sure SW7013 Ivory Lace is the paint you chose for your cabinets?

They feel dark because the space is dark, and a lighter wall color will do two things, brighten the space and make your cabinets look darker. Consider SW 7551 Greek Villa for your new wall color.

Help yourself and the value of the space w a lighting plan. It is inadequate presently. Any color change offered by various people will have little value until you address the lighting.

Are you sure that is SW Ivory Lace on your cabinets? I have my walls painted that color and it is not white. Definitely a creamy color.

hate to not have to say anything new lol..but yes of course, it's the backsplash. nice suggestions above. will make tons of difference hardware can be changed or not..i think it's pretty versatile a rug will help to set a tone..but if you're hesitant about rugs-I'd look into changing the lighting fixture for something that'd reflect your taste more it's all easy fixes, relatively speaking. you're not miles from what you envision..you're couple feet away:) yes, paint creams white color..or not a neutral, but a version of some color you love, so it won't fight with the cabinets you can use creams and whites together a lot in decor, but with cabinetry it's harder to swing it; so I'd paint. Brick-up to you. Will look ok whether painted or not, or so I feel. Maybe start with the build ins then decide about brick. You also will probably have your backsplash by then..will help you decide if the backsplash is patterned for example-I'd be tempted to paint the brick more It's not a lot of brick too, so whatever you decide-easier.

I think your kitchen is very nice, I don’t think the backsplash clashes with the cabinetry and I’m often critical of that in a lot of kitchen photos I see. You know what your kitchen reminds me of? Those rooms where a lot of different shades of whites, creams, and ivories are used... they don’t really match, but they all just go together nicely... and the thing (I think) that ties them all together is a lot of use of texture. So, for that, I like the chairs you have that are woven, as opposed to the smooth, white chairs. And I don’t think you need that tablecloth, I think the table looks just fine without it. I’d add some natural sea grass like colors and textures and some houseplants, maybe some wood cutting boards against the backsplash... any other colors I would gravitate towards would be soft blues and greens, nothing too intense.

Ok, I understand. I was trying to just get to the point and didn't realize how helpful you all would be. I'm thankful for your consideration. My dad is an engineer and did the inspection. That being said the areas that need fixing are very obvious and I aim to do that. I have a price to take down three trees in front of the house for 1,000. The others I can handle with a chainsaw. I'll do the painting myself and have a contractor fixing the porch and putting new gutters. The contractor will also install new top cabinets in the kitchen to match the already replaced cabinets on the bottom. That's 5k. Also all the floors will be sanded and poly for about 3k. Does everyone agree that the foundation that's exposed should be dark blue to match all the shutters? I'm planning on sanding and painting the front door the same color as the shutters. I was considering putting the key stone window trim above the front windows as well. I will do a lot of the lawn maintenance myself. I am planning on replacing some of the lighting. And do consider the fans to need replacing. Does everyone agree that the columns can stay as they are? I need to see what happened to make them lean toward the road. If they can be salvaged I can save a lot of money there however I thought 10 inch pillars and a colonial railing and fence would add class to this house. The railing that's there is very water logged and they used siding that doesn't match the house.

I would need to see a better close up of the rug that is staying, but to give you an idea of updates that would help. Paint in the lighter blue color, or the ivory, cabinets, walls and ceiling. You can leave the center ones darker, and if that blue matches the one in the rug, then that works. For the backs of the cabinets, put a nice ivory/light blue damask wallpaper that matches the cabinet paint color and ivory in the room and rugs. Replace the mirror with one like pictured below. Update all the pulls with crystal ones like pictured here. Update the lamp to a crystal one, and replace the fan with a crystal chandlier. In the photos all the colors seem to appear grayer/bluer than I would expect from how the colors normally appear. That does point to a lighting problem. Not enough natural light combined with not enough indoor light, and maybe not the right color temperature of indoor light. If you have LEDs in your ceiling fixtures, it could also be a problem with poor color rendering (LEDs vary a lot in their color rendering index, or CRI--look for 90 or higher). If you have LEDs, I would check the lamp characteristics first. If the color temperature is above 3000, or the CRI is below 90, that could be your problem.

I think Herbflavor may be right though: Your current lighting seems in adequate. Your kitchen would probably benefit from more lighting fixtures (recessed cans) and more total lumen output. Warmer color temperatures (2700-3000K) should help bring out the yellow in the Ivory Lace.

Yes it is definitely SW 7013 ivory lace! Thanks for the suggestion of Greek villa. I will also look into the lighting. Thanks everyone for your comments. I will post pics when done.

Anna682–I was wondering if you have any pictures of your Ivory Lace walls? I have narrowed down to Creamy or Ivory Lace, but can’t find too many pix of Ivory Lace.
