I just enjoyed rereading this thread and agree it seems like a good idea if we all send our pictures to Vicky, so that they will be anonymous for the judging. Is that all right with you, Vicky, and is the address given on your GW member page still OK? My wall hanging has gotten stalled for a while. It is at the point of needing its border put on, but the border I am thinking of is going to take time. The center part, which was the hardest, is now done. I have it draped over the back of a chair where I can't help seeing it every time I go through the living room, just to encourage myself to get it done. How are the rest of us doing? I can hardly wait to see what you all produce!

LOL.......I have been so busy with my business, aside from the teacup paper piecing and May block lotto haven't even been in my sewing room for months. I did go out a couple nights ago and bought a whole bolt of black cotton however, so I do have something done for the challenge, and also decided on the pattern for the piece. One I'd been wanting to try for a year or two. That's what challenges are all about aren't they? To give you that little nudge to make a dream become a reality?

I just voted. I was getting cross-eyed--I've looked at these pics so many times. I liked so many of them.I wanted to vote for one where someone had tried a new technique.I wanted to vote for one with beautiful quilting (I'm weak in that area and I envy anyone that can do it ),I wanted to vote for one that appealed to me visually. I even wound up giving each one points for different aspects--detail, originality, visual appeal,etc. Then last night I thought, well, if I was given a choice of keeping one for myself--which would I choose? Made up my mind, went to vote and changed my mind again. LOL. I wish I could have had at least three votes!! Anyway, I've voted. I just wanted to say that this has been really enjoyable and if there's another challenge I'll join in. Everyone did such a great job. Clap yourselves on the back. ~Geraldine

OP, sorry for potentially derailing your thread but I have a question I really wanted to ask for a while. I have a disclaimer first. I do not have any education in architecture and I am not a visual artist of any kind so I do not have trained eye for those things. Here is the question: why in order to have well designed and attractive house we need to hide garage doors ( and televisions, and refrigerators, etc.). Why "there is nothing attractive about garage doors"? I get it if you are building house that recreates architectural style from an era when those things did not exists. But for more modern styles, what's wrong with them?
