Should a cover panel for an end base cabinet go to the ground?

I just spoke to my kitchen designer + I'm supposed to decide this though have no idea how to decide. They are saying people typically take it down to the ground, but that either can be done and that I just need to decide.

On the one hand, it might look more clean/modern to take the panel all the way to the floor. And, it would also match the way the panel that surrounds the refrigerator will look (the refrigerator is also at the end of the row of base cabinets).

However, I worry about it being harder to sweep/clean if it went to the ground as opposed to just to the toe kick.

Hope this question is making sense.

What are people doing/thinking on this? I don't want the new kitchen to look dated or odd + have no idea what should be done, so any advice is really appreciated!

Thanks so much!:)
