LIRIO Aloe Vera powdered detergent anyone?
Comments (1)Update: Washed a load of dish cloths. Fresh stains did not come out on one, all others look and smell clean. No lingering scent, just pleasant smelling. Second load of bath towels came out nice and clean. There were no stains to remove. Suds were only present at the start of the warm wash (my warm is really warm, not lukewarm) and then barely noticeable after the first 5 min. or so. Question, what can I add to loads that need enzymes to clean the stains?? I like that this detergent doesn't appear to contain optical brighteners so I'd like to continue using it. Also the smell is very nice, not overly so like the Ariel powder and liquid I use. This detergent seems to be on the lower end as far as I can tell in my online google search, but I'm ok with it as long as it cleans well. The price was $12 for a 5K bag which will last a long time. Thanks for your suggestions and comments....See Morehow does my Aloe Vera look?
Comments (3)No, it's looking like a fine specimen. The soil will be moist still, a few days after raining, but that's winter for you. I'd get it in some better-draining soil eventually, but since your watering regimen isn't happening too often for it to sugger harm, there's no hurry. BTW, I don't think you have Aloe vera there, looking at the second picture in particular. I don't know exactly what you have (many need flowering to tell), but there are more than 300 species / varieties / cultivars / hybrids, so there's a lot to choose from and a lot to add to your collection. Where you live is likely a very good spot for most of them....See MoreDoes anyone see anything wrong with this aloe vera plant?
Comments (15)Laticauda, I would if it was mines and then I would probably kill it. It actually belongs to my massage therapist and I saw it while I was waiting in her office. I was just so shocked that it was so nice looking and then to see it growing like that just blew my mind! Over 5 years like that, that's the most surprising thing. I figured it would of died long before today growing like that. Crazy JeffO you are too funny. Sounds like you are a scardey cat. These friends people here are not as bad as you may think, besides they all pretty much have known me for years and know I would not grow my plants like that)...See MoreAnyone know what species of aloe vera this is?
Comments (15)ETA - it seems HOUSE is having a problem with us uploading, so I'll show a picture of a flowering Aloe vera later, when it gets fixed. Elexia, Karen brings up a good point. There are many premade C&S soils which are suitable for jungle cacti (which like a lot of water) but not much else. Yours appears to be one of those that are highly water-retentive. Cutting it with 50% perlite would likely help your plant in the long run (though it appears healthy, mind you). Matt, I disagree. It's actually much more common to find Aloe vera 'chinensis' (the one with spots and orange flowers) sold as Aloe vera, instead of the real one, in my experience....See MoreHIlary
