You could use flat rods like the ones that you have now and stretch a patterned fabric flat (not gathered) on them for similar coverage. Look into top and bottom attached blinds, too. Ones that are fixed and can be controlled either way. Or, “cafe” curtains. Your windows are very attractive. Love them!

Thank you! For the flat fabric using the rods on the windows, do you mean half (like they are) or the entire length of the window? I will look into the attached, fixed blinds too. Almost like shutters I think :)

Yes! You can do this on round spring tension rods, but they also make flat ones with the rubber tips, or the kind that slot into little brackets. They slide into the rod pocket and look flat, not rounded.

If you look them up online, they are sometimes described as “oval” spring tension rods. But they look good with flat panels, if you want to show off a William Morris fabric design or something like that. But as has been suggested, above, your woodwork and windows are beautiful! Less is more. Simple, subtle, so the woodwork is the star!

PS: I would only “curtain” half of your windows, as you currently do. So pretty!
