@Lilyfinch z9a Murrieta Ca Jen, I remember admiring it from the Japanese rose Instagram posts and wished that I could have access to it. I can't believe my luck when I finally have it in my garden. I have two in pots, and I know they will be amazing in the ground. Maybe I need to plant some of my roses in my neighbors' yards to make room for one of them in the ground, lol.

@dianela7bnorthal PalatineRoses said they are building up the mother plants so they will skip this year and offer it next year (Sep 2021). I think it will look wonderful in your garden. Helen

Helen: even though I have 1 Climbing Eden, 2 White Climbing Edens, 2 Boleros... I’m now feeling like I NEED Pompon Veranda in my garden thanks to your gorgeous photos. Would you mind sharing a photo of the entire plant? How big is your pompon and how long have you had it? I ADORE how cupped the blossoms are and the variegation from soft pale green to white to pink. Does it have a nice strong fragrance? How large are the blossoms? Do you have it in full sun? And if so, does the color seem to fade at all?

Helen: one more question... do you like it better than your Eden Rose?

@Ann-SoCalZ10b SunStZ22 Here is the link to my full plant on HMF https://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=21.343124 . Mine is in a pot because I have no room in the ground for it. It's about 2ft H. It has no fragrance. The blooms are small 2 - 2.5 inches. It is in full sun and the color doesn't fade. I like it better than Eden because Eden only has two big flushes while Pompon Veranda has good repeat and better colors and bloom form. If you have room for only one rose, go with Pompon Veranda. If you have room for more roses then have both Pompon Veranda and Eden because they are special in their own ways.

bayarea_girl z9ca: Helen, thank you for taking the time to share your beautiful roses. I surprised to find out that for being such a beautiful and healthy rose Pompon Veranda is so difficult to find. Is seems that many of the roses I fall in love with on here are a bit more challenging to find. I love the way pompon Veranda looks growing in a pot for you. Her overall full shape, more petite manageable size and proportions a lovely. I definitely want this rose... especially for the fact the she reblooms so well and that the blooms last a long time on the plant. How does she look once the blooms start to fade? Does she require immediate deadheading to still look good? Would you consider her a low maintenance rose for you? Do you think she would look good planted as a mass planting of 3 plants in a row... used like a landscape rose. I have a specific spot in mind... but the spot would be one where it’s more difficult for me to access and regularly prune. Do you hand water your pots or have it hooked up to a drip system? You have so many spectacular and uniquely special roses in your garden.

@CeresMer Zone 7a NJ Thank you. I have a drip system for the ground roses and hand water the potted roses. However, I'm planning to set up a second drip line for the potted roses because it takes too much time hand water many potted roses every day. My rose pics often look good because I clean up my roses before taking pictures. For the feeding schedule, I think you should check with BenT. His roses always have abundance of blooms. I'm really busy with work so I feed my roses when I have the time and don't follow any schedule. My garden philosophy is things will get done when when they get done, lol.

@Ann-SoCalZ10b SunStZ22 Thank you Ann. I think Pompon Veranda original was a florist rose so regular rose gardeners didn't have access to it until later. Many beautiful florist roses make me feel like a kid at a candy store and being told I could look but couldn't have any, lol. This rose needs deadheading. I think it will look good as a mass planting 3 plants in a row. However, if the place is difficult for you to access for pruning, you can look at some David Austin roses. I think David Austin intentional bred the self deadheading characteristic in some of his roses because those are meant to be used as landscaping roses and self deadheading is a positive feature. However, these type of roses often won't last long in a vase. Helen

bayarea_girl z9ca: that’s so interesting... I never considered roses grown specifically for florists. But it makes sense that would be one. It has such a lovely, feminine, romantic look and feel to it. I tend to like cut flowers in the house for arrangements and find that I tend to gravitate towards those types of roses. I will just have to find a different spot for it, where I can more easily deadhead. Do you happen to grow Princess Anne in your garden? I’m curious to know how she does in our area. She’s also at the very top of my list... because of her color and peony like blooms, repeat blooming, and full shape... but I don’t know if any other California gardeners growing her.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how PV would do own root?
