Updating front porch/front door
Hello! Looking to update our front door area - planning on new front door/sidelights and everything else is up for replacement/update! The giant hydrangea are being replaced next week with much smaller ones so this will dramatically open up the front area. Open to more stylish firewood storage, new planters, new house numbers, new light - everything! I am thinking i need to redo the spindle-style posts as well - would love style/colour advice. The "welcome" sign is leaving, the little brown table is only there waiting on a porch-pickup as is the Canada Day sign. The couch has beige cushions - I'm indifferent as to whether it stays or not - we never sit out there. Firewood needs to stay.

Comments (1)I would stain the flooring, paint can peel and be a bother. For me, I'd stain it dark but that's a personal call. Painting a bright green when the rest of the colors are muted may be too much pop. How about a light green that is in the historical colors so it's muted a bit. Comments (20)I never suggest painting brick, but in your case I am changing my mind. I would paint the brick on the front of the porch to match the siding. I would leave the interior brick alone. 3 years agoWhy replace the hydrangea? You can cut them back in late fall to almost ground. Other bushes should be pruned this fall.
Your garage doors would look better with the top panel in windows.
I much prefer a single door with sidelights. This one style to consider.
