What Color Roof - Pale Yellow Siding & Brick
Comments (13)Hi, What a cute little house! No worries, sometimes the coloring doesn't come out so well on the monitor and will look completely different in person. I can see why you chose the palette that you have though, it's exactly what I thought before I read your response. We have a 2 story colonial and the color of our siding is very similar to the color you have. We don't have any brick though, so we went with a Certainteed Roof in a medium toned charcoal color that has a touch of the brick color mixed in it. Without the brick the color looks great with the siding; our trim is all white as well. I almost think if you went with a lighter color on the trim it would offer a little more pop to the whole elevation. I know you didn't ask for this next suggestion but I think it would also look cute to have something flanking the door on each side. Usually people have lighting but if that's not possible, maybe you can hang some baskets on hangers or something. I think the brick just needs something more to help it blend in with the rest of the front. I love your landscape and how the gardens are layered with color. Very pretty....See MoreHome exterior color, too dark? Suggestions welcome
Comments (1)I think it is way too dark. I love the look of black roof, but it absorbs a lot of heat in the summer....See MoreDark green metal roof! What color do I paint the siding?
Comments (8)Thank you for the suggestions. @George - yes the house is a bit of a circus! It was built in the 80's and at one time was a nice looking A frame with a covered deck across the front. It looked cute back then. Since then the previous owner filled in half the deck upstairs and down giving it a weird look. Even worse is that they worked around the existing support posts when they installed the new windows on the extension so one window is larger than the other. Lots of work to do down the road but we just recently bought it as a summer home so for now will try to hide some flaws with a paint job....See MoreMarvin window color for dark brick house
Comments (7)@Patricia Colwell We are not replacing the arched window. The front arched door will be painted (or stripped) and something with the stone will be done. Maybe removed, not sure yet. And yes the shutters need to go. We agree! Agree about the nana being contemporary and the house not being. But that is what it is for functionality. We thought about matching the windows to Iron Ore (essentially black) but we are not sure how that will look. We have seen plenty of older homes with a nanawall in the area that is a different color than the windows and it looks great. So we are okay with not matching but we are also okay matching....See MoreCindy Sanz
