I'm Wearing Out

Memorable July 4 here. I had my first ambulance trip to the ER, following extended vomiting in the morning. (I'd taken a initial dose of an antibiotic for sinus infection.) Home again by 3 p.m. yesterday.

It was a 'mini' heart attack (nstemi). An angiogram saw nothing that needed 'mending' -- no stents. My groin is sore where the probe went in, but getting better. Glad to sleep in my own bed last night.

I thought some would like to know that one can have heart damage without feeling a lot of pain. Mine was diagnosed by the amount of troponin my heart released into my blood stream. I don't know whether the vomiting caused the attack or if it the reverse. I've been prescribed a beta-blocker and a statin for cholesterol, although my cholesterol count is *perfect* -- possibly my sole physical claim to fame! My only prior symptoms were over a two year span; I had three or four times of waking at night with a pressure in my back and under my jaw -- gone in a minute or two.

I'm planning to be at the cancer clinic tomorrow morning for my weekly infusion of immunotherapy against the myeloma.

Ack. What next?
