Oh, I'm so sorry you went through that!

When I got my stent, just over two years ago, my cholesterol levels were good. As I recall, my total cholesterol was 155 (it's supposed to be <200) and my LDL - bad cholesterol - was 101 (it's supposed to be <130). I, too, was started on a statin - Lipitor, and my total cholesterol is now 104 and LDL is 44.

And I, too, was told that I'd had a mini heart attack. I didn't have any pain in my back, but the pain did go down my left arm and up into my jaw and ear on the left side.

My angiogram and stent placement were done through my right wrist.

I would guess that the vomiting was caused by what was going on with your heart. I hope you feel better soon!!

You sound like you’ve been through the wringer. I hope things get better soon. I hope what comes next is good news and smooth sailing.

I hope the rest of the summer is quiet for you, I'm so glad your trip to the ER was fast and the treatment effective.

Oh Chisue, it's not fair. Dealing with cancer is enough. You do not need any more on your plate! I am so sorry you are having to go through all this. I'm just the opposite of you. I had three stents put in about 16 years ago.....no heart attack, just knew something was wrong and when they did an angiogram, found one artery 90% blocked, another 80% and the third one just starting to be blocked. Here you are, have a heart attack and no blockage. Go figure.

Interesting. I've never heard of custom-fitted orthotics prescribed for cardiac or cancer issues.

People have heart attacks all of the time and never know about them. Women seem to have different symptoms than men so it is good that people read about them. I have had a couple of women friends who ended up in the hospital when a damaged ankle or foot released a small clot and it went directly to the heart.

I would like to suggest if you have not already done so that you call the place you receive your infusion before you go. They may want to see the cardiologist's report or have special protocol for people who have recently had a heart attack.

Oh, my! No fair, no fair, and I'm sorry to read this. But thank you for letting us know. You're a tough cookie, Chisue and I know you'll be ok. Did they tell you the Beta Blocker may make you quite tired? Hesitate a minute whenever you get up to make sure you're not going to be dizzy. I hope your infusion tomorrow is easy and trouble-free.

I'm so glad you are all right! That sounds like an awful scare.

It really is surprising how the small little clues are often there long before we know that there is something going wrong. It probably means getting a very thorough annual checkup at the doctors for most of us.

Those heart issues sure can sneak up on you. It happened to me just about the same way it happened to you. That was 5 years ago, and I am doing fine now. Hope you will stay well in that regard too. And you have my good thoughts and prayers for the best outcome with your myeloma treatment

This is the first day I've felt relatively 'normal', so of course, here I am again! (Took off the super-sealer bandage from the angiogram procedure this morning; teeny bruise.)

How wonderful to hear from you all, and to hear of other people's experiences with my mini-attack. I'm still a little unsure if the heart caused the vomiting or the reverse. Whatever, I'll do as our mdln says and keep on the meds prescribed. (Where else could I get a clearer explanation of the medical? We are fortunate to have such a wide field of expertise from so many fields here on the KT!)

My MM infusion went fine. Came home and napped for two hours. Poor DH, freezer food dinner again! Next MM visit should be Darzalex subcu -- staff to have in-service today. Humbling to visit the cancer center; I'm relatively 'well'.

Lukki -- How are YOU? I think of your long battle with MM for your DH, and now the empty space where he ISN'T. I think of you often. Do post when you can.

Mild fever is also something I have seen in MI patients. Some of those "atypical" symptoms, especially in women, include aching jaw (or under the jaw), or an ache or "cramp" in between the shoulder blades, "heartburn", shortness of breath, a feeling of anxiety or restlessness, or unusual fatigue. Any of those can occur by itself or in combination, and without the "classic" chest pain, chest pressure or discomfort in the left arm.

I think in the past decade or so that there has been more recognition of the syndrome of MIs in patients with clean arteries, often associated with significant life stress, but sometimes no triggering factor identified.

raee -- Thanks. Gosh, who isn't *stressed* right now? Drought, pollution, political unrest, racial tensions, COVID -- and for me, my MM and its treatment. Age, arthritis, family...all the 'normal' for us all. I'm hoping for more RESILIENCE! (Despite the 'falling apart'.)
