Comments (17)ginger0314: I'd try looking for them on Craigslist first. Online there's Homedecorators.com and Overstock.com. Is your DR table rectangle or square? If so, another look I love is having only two slipcovered chairs and leaving the rest alone. It's another way to change the look of a room and adding a little whimsy. Laurie: I think you hit the nail on the head. Your FR is too matchy matchy. Do you live close to a Home Goods, Kohl's, Marshalls or any of these types of stores? I'd go there and pick up pillows in different sizes and colors. Your current pillows blend into your couches (save the receipt). Make sure to bring one of your pillows that have the same fabric as the couch. It looks like you could bring in some gold/yellowish colored pillows. You want an odd number of pillows on your couches. Depending on the size either 3 or 5 pillows. Take a look at my LR couch and you'll see that I don't have a single pillow in the same fabric as the couch. It's the same in my FR. When you're out look for a throw blanket. Just one to drape on the arm of one of the couches. A large oval or rectangle tray for your coffee table would look great. You want it large enough to old 3 items. A 4X6 frame, potted plant and/or flowers, candles etc. it just takes some playing around to get the right effect. I'm not sure what your budget is but if you can swing it, I'd send Shelley (my seamstress) your small pillows. The ones that match the couch and have her make 1 large 24"X24" pillow. Then I'd take your maroon/rust (hard to see the color on my monitor) colored pillow to a fabric store. I think adding fringe to those pillows will add a bit of pop to the couch. Look for a color that's similar to the darker color in the pillows. The fringe should be at least 1 1/2" long. Also look for a fabric that can co-ordinate with your couch. You'll want to have another pillow made 24"X24" along with 2 small rectangle pillows. Take the large pillows and put them on the floor in front of your fireplace. I think a different colored lampshade for the lamp on the end table. It looks washed out since it's similar in color to the walls. I wouldn't buy a new couch until you know for sure if you're moving. How about slipcovering your current couches? I wish you lived by me. I have an entire small garage filled with my impulsive purchases. My friends and brother love picking through my stuff for their homes. Please keep me posted. Most importantly, please don't feel pressured that you have to do any of this, theyre just suggestions, nothing more. Ann...See MoreWhat color would you call this?
Comments (18)guys, LOL! my vote goes to roselovr's crayola red! I think crayola red is darn close... Dublinbay, lol! that's no cherry red, hee-hee... I always think of cherries as that fresh cherry natural fruit color....unless of course you wanna call it maraschino! or how about "cinnamon red-hot" (like the ones gradeschool kids eat)....I know, I know I'm being silly, somebody slap me, heheh, but that red is like super bright on my monitor.......See MoreDiana Bier Interiors, LLC
