Hostas already going dormant
Comments (6)Hi Deanna: Same here and we are in Zone 7 in Northern CA. We have had cool nights all summer long however and in the past month as low as 35, 36 degrees at night. When I woke up Thursday morning it was a balmy 38 degrees. The hostas in the wettest most shaded places area holding up better but those in the dryer beds are starting to fade despite daily watering. A strange year of weather indeed. Kate...See MoreI want to get rid of some hostas
Comments (14)Hey, where you at? ;o) Zone 7 in what state? ... I sell my violets on craigslist and get great response. List to your local area for local pickup and not shipping if you don't want to break up the plant. People are looking for bargains though. You'll only make a few bucks but take comfort in knowing it has a new home. Or look up a hosta society in your area.. google it.. and maybe you can make a connection with someone....See MoreWhat Hosta Says 'Cool' When It's Hot Outside

When I am needing to cool down I think of water and Sea Lotus Leaf does the trick. Les...See MoreHot Hungarian Wax/Pepperoncini Cross - does anyone want some seed?

And they are planted in a garden that I get to only about once a week so they haven't been given much attention or water. Anyway, there are very distinct differences between the two types. This is from the seeds closer to a HHW. Not much difference from a normal HHW and the peppers grow upright. Here's one from the seeds of the Pepperoncini type. The peppers grow downward. And this is from the HHW type but seems to be kinda in the middle of the two. The peppers initially grow upright. Apologies for the blurry pic. I definitely gotta find more space for these next year.
