DtD: The New England gallery is not set up for direct upload, so you still would have to upload at some other hosting site and then link to that. I looked at the Hosta Gallery and at least one photo was on Photobucket (I only checked one to see). If you want to use Garden Web as a hosting site, then you would have to upload to Garden Galleries. Their FAQ is here. I checked one photo and the image location was at Garden Web. You would then link to the Galleries instead of Picasa. I'm still mulling this over. I may try transferring the older "Birds and other mobile features..." threads to the Gallery as a test to see how it works and whether people like that. Hopefully GW won't object to these threads as being somewhat on the fringe of gardening (actually, they are, but the regional forums, IMO, should have more leeway in what they're interested in). The test should show whether transfer is worth the effort. For me, the 'Mobile' threads have been going on long enough that bookkeeping is getting to be a real pain so it may be worth it. I would suggest that pixie_lou hang back and see how this works in practice. She has a good routine set up now that works well. Claire

Perhaps this is another opportunity to laud the Rose Forum of the National Garden Association where many of us have joined (Jeri, Lisa, Nippstress, MustbNuts, Christopher and many more whose names escape me at the moment. It's a very friendly and easy to use forum, pictures are easy to load and there are no ads! You can be from overseas also, Marlorena, so I hope everyone has a look-in to decide whether they might decide to join. Anything new is never comfortable right away, and this has been my home for so long that I'm really sorry to part ways. I'm still going to answer posts here but I don't think I'll ever start a new post. Houzz has just worn me down with their ineptitude and lack of genuine concern for the gardenweb users, but it's difficult to wrench myself away. Perhaps it will be easier if I meet more of you over there!

For those of you on Chrome, when you go to Stories and Advice, have you actually clicked on GardenWeb Discussions? Try it and see what happens. I do not get a list of forums but rather a mixed list of posts made to the forums in my personal My Topics list with a heading of Your Topics as if it's a forum unto itself. In order to get a list of GardenWeb forums I click on Explore Topics in the left column and all GW garden and home forums come up. HOWEVER I am on a laptop, not using an app on my phone, accessing through Chrome on both AND not using the Houzz web address. We all know IT is not their strong suit here so none of this surprises me.
