Are the so called 'atomic clocks' sold at the big box stores...
Comments (12)I have two AA battery powered wall clocks from walmart... they reset to correct time about two weeks after the time change. I manually adjust them and two weeks later set them again. But that might just be their locations in my house. IF they had some kind of better reception or dangling or remote antenna, I'm quite shure they would reset within a few hours. I do have two ac_powered desk clocks that must check time every hour because they're good to go with no fiddling ever. One amazed me .. when I first bought it, the instant I plugged it in it had the correct time. $20 drugstore clock....See Morebig big flood and possible mold in inside walls. advice?
Comments (4)We had a mold issue when we moved into our new home (though we knew it going in). They had had a flood, and didn't do anything but let it dry out (sound familiar?). We had a company come in during the inspection and take air samples from around the house, some of which came back positive for 'dangerous' molds. Long story short, I demo'ed the entire area that had mold, down to the studs. I then bought a commerical ozone generator for about $700, closed off each room, and let the ozone get to a high level (to high for any carbon based life forms, so don't forget to let the dog out first!). This will kill the mold, and get into all the air crevaces that bleach cannot. I did this room by room. I will say that we haven't had the house tested again, but there is no more musty smell (except in the basement), and we don't seem to be growing any anywhere. The most dangerous mold growth occurs when there is a constant source of water. Also, in my research on the subject, most mold related deaths and disease were from really, really intense infestations. Like, it should look like a cave in your living room. In your case, maybe you got lucky, and there is enough air moving. Still, it only cost about $400 for the lab to come in. Eric...See MoreLarge Wall Clock
Comments (1)We just bought a new clock at Home Goods last week; it's 26 inches (i think) round and it's a really good size (our room is 15 x 24). I think 49' in your room will be way too overwhelming. I can take a pic of my clock for you if you want. At $19.99 I think it was a steal!...See MoreELECTRONICS - Clock radio with BIG numbers:
Comments (3)I'd return it and buy a different one. Normally, when things blink, it's in setting mode or it's been through a power outage so I wouldn't trust my job with a clock you either can't understand or get to work properly. Look at reviews online before buying anything to make sure the unit is at least decent. I personally just use my cell phone as an alarm clock. I can set multiple alarms if need be and they can play whatever sounds I want. I am particular not a morning person and could sleep through a hurricane and need an alarm that could probably wake the dead from across the city. Also, your phone gets it's time from your carrier so it should always be right on....See More
