Mont Blanc Quartzite
My husband and I are considering Mont Blanc Quartzite. Any thoughts on its durability? I didn’t get a sample yet because the main stone yard is about an hour away and we just visited the smaller one to see the stone. The sales woman said it would not etch or stain but I’m concerned about the yellowish/tan circles in the bottom left of the slab. Is this Part of the stone or staining from something in the elements?

3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoHard to say. It is a natural stone so anything can happen in nature. Or, it could be stained from being outside.
This won’t be your slab.
i googled and found this description:
You can expect some gold and tan veining.
If this is not to your liking research others. But, it looks to be insignificant and you can avoid it during templating.
Quartzite is not stain proof, but is highly durable.

If not, kindly share what type of sealer you used. Comments (7)WELL. : ) Design is editing. I think a six inch splash ( outlets cut into splash, sideways, or higher and above the splash ) always looks good. In the same material as the counter top. Comments (12)We have had ours for 10 months and it is amazing! No issues with staining/etching/chipping. (Not babying AT ALL) We purchased from AZ Tile, so I trusted it to be true quartzite. At the yard my fabricator threw some ice water on it and it beaded up and did not soak in. I believe anyone with negative issues did not purchase a true quartzite, which is harder than granite. Many stone yards mislabel softer stones as quartzite. I love mine so much, hope you will as well!...See MoreElizabeth A
