I am not following what you mean about if you are getting charged 2K for organization you could do yourself. This is strictly for the cabinets and no demo or install correct?

About how many cabinets are you talking?

Sounds low to me. Especially with an island. An island is the most expensive cabinetry because all sides are visible and finished. What does “Sizes are standard” mean? What size is your sink base cabinet? You said slab doors? What about base drawers? Are these framed or frameless cabinets? (though I think I know the answer).

Your post sounds like you don’t know what you don’t know. I am not meaning that as a jab. It is more cautionary not to get in over your head and spend money to make a bunch of mistakes in your cabinetry. Read up, educate yourself, it will help.

I'll try to answer all the questions but if I miss one, I'm sorry!

I am not sure I can post my plan because it was done by a company who said I can't release it (my assumption is that I can't post it, but I don't really know). I can list out what I need though.

All base cabinets with one pantry (all are 34.5" except pantry):

Joseph - I don't understand what you mean. Isn't it my business if I am buying them? Can you explain this comment further and what you mean by "not your business"?

About the organization. Rev-a- shelf pull out pantry is only $600 if I buy it and install it myself into the pantry. That is what I mean. They are charging 2k for the rev-a-shelf to come in the pantry.

As for # of cabinets, I guess there are 9, but not sure how we figure floating shelves in.

Shannon - when I say sizes are standard, I mean, they are in 3" increments. 18, 24, 27, etc. I'm not choosing weird dimensions. And yes, you are right about "i don't know what I don't know". My dad is a contractor and he tells me I would be overpaying, but my dad also didn't know that floating shelves were common these days, so I'm not sure I trust everything he says, hence why I'm on here asking. He also doesn't live in my state, and may be underestimating the market in WA. Ultimately, I don't want to end up being ripped off.

If you post your existing space and what you are trying to achieve you might get better responses. But just know that very basic kitchen cabinets from IKEA (for the items you noted) is around $4500 (and that is DIY- you put it all together - no rev a shelf components, no floating shelves, etc). A good quality floating shelf about 4' wide can run $400 each without labor to install). Good you are doing your homework - planning and then comparing companies apples to apples is the only way to know if you are getting what you want/need at the best price (and a minimum of 3 bids from reputable sources).
