I think your choices lend nicely to a Transitional look. That's when you take traditional looking products but modernize them for today's style. A gray/white kitchen would be the modern part. A 'natural' wood look product could add the 'traditional' part. Adding a wood-tone to a modernized kitchen is what offers the 'Transitional' feel to a space. And the light yellow/gold tones of wood add SUNLIGHT and WARMTH from the floor. Yep. The flooring will bounce a little bit of warm lighting (ahem...sunlight is yellow) into the space. That snick of yellow adds cheerfulness to an otherwise dull gray/black/white monochromatic world. If you are in a climate that sees all 4 seasons or have plenty of cloudy/gray days (aka Seattle and Vancouver) then a cheerful floor colour REALLY helps with mental health (nope....not kidding on that one).

Congratulations on your new log home! I have to agree with BeverlyFLADeziner. You have a lot of wood already. And faux wood beside real wood is NOT a good look. Instead, as she suggests, go for a stone/slate look on your floor. It will ground the space. I assume that you will use area rugs to soften the space (and mute the sound transmission in the space. Hard surfaces everywhere.). I would look at real stone or slate, or even the LVP that looks like it. Enjoy your new home!

I find the upper lines of Coretec have less repeat. The pattern is in different places or orientation on different boards as well. Once rugs and furniture are down, I don’t notice the repeat. None of it looks exactly like real wood if you look at it next to real wood. Also suggest getting a style in a believable wood tone, not a super gray looking one.

I received the Flooret samples (3) and the Coretec sample (1) for our basement level. Both DH and I much prefer the Flooret. We just prefer the look. The Coretec (Hayes Oak) had more of a distressed look that seemed to be trying to appear more rough sawn, if that makes sense, which made it more visually busy. I prefer a smoother look since some of our hardwoods are looking a bit 'distressed' from multiple dogs over the years and I am not happy! I will probably order a couple of full planks of the Flooret to get a better sense of how it would look on a full floor. We have cherry bookshelves on two walls in the library, so we need to be careful to get something that will look good with those because they are not going anywhere. Anyway, try ordering the Flooret. I think it is pretty nice.
