Do quartz counters bleach out or stain?
Comments (4)IDK about the stains but I saw a remnant at a local store that had been sitting outside for some time and the top was a different color than the bottom part shielded from the sun by other remnants. The color fades when exposed to direct sunlight. Part of my counter is next to the window with a lot of sunshine coming in the morning, that is why I abandoned the idea right away though I already had a pattern picked out. Don't know if that helps any....See Moretrying to price out quartz counter
Comments (11)Here is what that would cost in my neck of the woods: 80SF Quartz Countertops: Includes: kitchen sink cut out, 2 vanity bowl cutouts, 18 g stainless steel sink, range cutout, laser template, delivery and set tops. This also includes choice of 5 edge profiles: Eased, double roundover, demi-bullnose, full bullnose, beveled. Least expensive colors right now are a few from Zodiaq and Hanstone. That would cost $5863 My most expensive quartz is Caeserstone Pure White and it would run $8462 Vanity bowls not included. Additional labor may be required: Countertop removal? Haul away debris? Plumbing hookup? Electrical hookups? There are 3 fancier edges that would add somewhere between $6 to $13 per linear foot extra. For a 15 year sealant, add another $4 per square foot But like everyone said....cost vary per region. Let us know when you get the estimate....See MoreBusy tile floor, what color/pattern granite counters?
Comments (3)Your cabinets are similar in color as mine. If you're looking for a product to flow with the colors look into New Venetian Gold or Santa Cecilia granite (both are very similar in color, movement of the stone is different). Up close the granite will seem busy but when you step back it will all flow nicely....See MoreVent hood instead of Microwave or Quartz counters instead of Granite?
Comments (14)Vent hood for sure. [Vented to the outside] Over-the-range Microwaves are most stupendous invention ever. It sucks a greasy air from your stove and throws it above or out. The trap filters at the bottom of Over-the-range Microwaves are too large to capture oil vapors, and top charcoal filter is just for reducing the smell. All massively undersized. So where does the frying oil go? Some oil vapors condenses inside of your microwave and cleverly hidden oil pools inside//above and the rest gets thrown right back in the house. Most microwaves do not have the fans pull enough air. -You have a device that hold a lot of oil, barely has any suction or air filtering. As a result for vented to the inside mw the grease will damage your ceilings, accumulates on light fixtures, cabinets, get into your lungs. So if you have an older MW I would not turn it upside down, there is a lot of oil in it....See Moretlwild
