new: obf: july 'beat the heat' swap
Comments (134)hi everyone. lots to catch up on. hope EVERYONE is well, prayers and happy thoughts to all that need them. melissa, just love that lili pic. i remember the first time my son fed himself spaghetti. head to toe and everything in between. carol, in such a short period of time, your yard is amazing. dottie, this weather is nuts, isn't it. i appreciate the rain, less to water, especially since i never hooked up the drip system (again) this year. i still don't have a red tomato, but i certainly have some wonderful weeds. i'm not losing sleep over anything in the back yard beds this year, i have all intentions of revamping absolutely everything and building a few raised beds and walls come autumn. my hydrangeas this year have been the most spectacular show stoppers in my beds. each one is prettier than the next and so many different colors. i hope to dry some blooms this year and keep them at least until christmas that i can put them in a tree. a friend of mine did that one year and it was such a wonderful tree. just hydrangea and vertical ribbons - simple and gorgeous. my g-babe turned 3 last friday and we floated around to various spca's and finally, she found her dog who she named "lisa". it's a cute little thing - a wire haired dachsund. i am thinking it might be a little mix in it, but she's so cute and rather intelligent. a real cuddle bug too. my g-babe is learning to walk her and pick up after her on our walks as well. hot and sticky today - i relented and turned on the air. i've had it on in the car for about a month already this month's swap boxes are just great so far. hope to read about august soon. time to catch up on all the OBF activities. be well everyone, happy blooms maryanne...See Moreobf 's 4th of july xmas 2007 swap #2

Comments (150)Wow! Some of you are ready to mail already? I am not even close yet!:) To those of you that are having issues with your updates not taking, jaynine,Janine, posted that if you completely close GW after updating and sign back in it takes. I am going to be sure all of mine took also, just in case!;) Angela,it is so nice of you to offer,Thank you! For now, I sort of have my own plan,I haven't started yet,but if I think mine may be a no go,I may just take you up on it!:) I have everyones name, and link to their trade page in a file,as I find seeds I have on their wants I am going to copy and paste those I have into the file under their name, print it out and sit down with my seeds and pack them up...that is the plan, hopefully it goes as smoothly as I have imagined!;) Please, if you update, post so we know! Many people may not be checking lists twice considering the update deadline has past, but there are those of us that will be checking them up to the mailing deadline. So if you make changes, let us know!:) Karen & Nancy,I would email Patty and ask her opinion, just in case she misses your post!I am curious of what she has to say, because I already know I am well past the 200 limit myself...lol...:) I have mentioned this before,in case any of you missed it. Last year someone suggested that we all send Patty an extra stamp or two with our postage to help with any overages she may have at the PO on the big mailing day. This was not something Patty suggested, just something I thought was a nice thing we could possibly carry over to this year!:) Tina,I was thinking of doing the same thing, like you,am going to get my final total and take out the general ones, unless of course, I have some awesome plant I want share that fits into a general category!;) stage rat,it was dirtdiggin that said she has an excel spreadsheet made up of the players for the swap.I totally agree, having the original on a notepad of some kind is always best!:) Well,I will be off the computer, until after Christmas! Lots to do here and the kids were off school today because of some really cold weather, wind chills at -10 to -20,so not much got done, tomorrow I will catch up on the house...again... and than we are going to bake and start preparing for Christmas dinner before going to MIL's for Christmas Eve dinner!:) I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!:)...See MoreSecond Annual 4th of July Swap
Comments (94)Whew,...I'm back! Yes, Erica, your "Woo Hoo!" package definitely arrived,...like, I think, 4 days ago. We went to the wedding of some special neighbor friends of ours on the 1st, having the previous afternoon ordered a few select gifts for them from their registry at Bed Bath and Beyond. Thanks totally for all the great seeds (thanks to everyone involved, actually) and wonderful, fun extras! Wow! Like I said, above, "Woo Hoo!" - Also, I should add that I have been having trouble accessing the Internet for the past couple days. Called Charter Communications this afternoon and their automated trouble shooting service helped me set things straight, so,...I'm back, finally. Turned out it was a fixable modem malfunction. - Such lovely weather and other atmospheric gifts we've been blessed with, lately. Not only has it been humid and hot recently, but now we're capped by the smoke of an 8,500 acre fire nowhere near far enough north of here. The smokey air outside is nearly impossible to breathe most of the time, except for Saturday, thank God, for Dave & Linda's wedding. Believe me, I did some heavy praying that morning. While it remained basically hot, the smoke let up a lot. Yesterday and today, though, it's back in full force. Stouts Fire...See Moresmitties
