Comments (5)I sure do like the ideas already. Do a search on the first forum page for mgs by "Kirkus" as he has made some fantastic trellis out of tree branches, etc. The idea for using them for Christmas and holding decorations is great also. Either paint them or wrap red fabric strips around them to look like candycanes and then top with the star, gift boxes or snowflakes. I think those would look really cute. Or use them to hold faux pumpkins. I've been saving this pic for an idea. The pole in the pic is a porch or stair spindle. You could paint your poles orange and black and other bright halloween colors, nail on a wood top base to glue the pumpkin to and then stream down some colorful raffia with stars or moons attached to the bottom of the raffia or even hang down some fall leaf garland . These would swing in the wind and I think look really cute for the holidays....See MoreCan I neck a 2 inch pump down to 1 inch?
Comments (9)It will work.....for a little while. If you're necking down the output port in an attempt to add some pressure for the sprinkler application, then you're likely going to exceed the psi, (or "head"), rating the manufacturer specifies for the pump. FWIW, all of the pumps we have in the rental fleet that have been "converted" by customers to do jobs they weren't designed to do always wind up in the shop. Take a peek at some of the pumps for sale at places like Northern Tool. There are pumps specifically designed for higher pressure applications. Many such sites include links to parts breakdowns and such....you can see what allows higher pressure pumps to last in such applications. Here's some info on converting manufacturers' "head" and "psi" ratings back and forth: ;-) Here is a link that might be useful: Head to PSI...See More3/4 inch vs 1/2 inch copper remodelling
Comments (10)Got a question. My shower has 3 body sprays that never worked right because they were hooked up with the other shower heads and therefore had no pressure. I opened up a part of the wall on the outside to see what I could do. The body sprays have a 1/2" presure balance system hooked up to a regular valve coming from the shower heads. I bought a Moen 1/2" posi valve to hook up to the body sprays and separate from the shower heads. My main is 3/4" branching off to the 1/2" balance system. My question is the 1/2" posi valve has small holes inside for the water, would it benefit me to use a 3/4" posi valve to mix more water or would that just turn down the pressure. I hoped I explained this right. I cannot redo the 1/2" balancing system without taking all the tile and cement board off and really creating a mess. Thanks in advance....See MoreShower in Mstr constructed.. can we add 1-1/2 inches to the curb?
Comments (6)Glad you got your answers. I did not expect you to know about how to construct a shower, but your complaint about the slope sounded like that seemed wrong to you. If you were complaining about shower slope, looking up the slope seemed the first step. Now that I have read Blubird's and your further comments, I see that your pictures are not showing the curb from inside the shower, but from outside. From this angle, now that I know to look for it, I see that there is a row of lighter colored, long narrow pieces of tile that may be quarter round or may just be flat pieces, and then the shower floor. Is this section at an angle, or flat with the top of the shower floor? If it is flat on the floor, then it is, indeed, as high as the curb, I am hoping that it is at an angle to give you a little bit of curb and some peace of mind. I was not noticing the size of the tile under the rosin paper. It would have been a give away that this was the room floor. Now that you have explained it more, I understand. Did the shower hold the water to your satisfaction? I imagine you are on a concrete slab and it was built this way for ease of construction. I have no idea if this is proper or not. Curbless showers are done everyday now, and though they make some people nervous, others do like them. I am doing one, though mine will have a linear drain across the front so water should not escape. As far as I know, once a post is up for a while, you can't erase it. About all you can do is put a comment in the comment section saying it was answered elsewhere....See MoreTrailrunner D
