How old is the Mother cat and kitten? Are your 2 cats entering a new household or are the mother and kitten coming to your house?

You can find info on the web about safely introducing cats but keep in mind it will take time and patience. It is NOTHING like introducing 2 dogs.

Hi , my two cats I already have are very sweet cats, The mama is almost 2 years and her kitten is 4 months. I was told to separate the mom and and kitten , because the mama is still nursing the Kitten. Thanks

They are all females , the mom and kitten are from a shelter, both are fixed.the Kitten is pretty long for her age.we have had other cats before this. They all passed away from being old.

This is a sensitive situation and must be carried out under your supervision. since the mommy cat has her kiten so she will be protective and mayeven get quite aggresive around the other cats. But you haveto introduce them eventually, but better do it with the vet’s guidance and under your supervision. If the cats don’t get along at first, then at least you will be able to handle it. but i think you may star by having them play together.

I would recommend using a large crate or room with the door shut to slowly introduce your new friend to your current pets. This will prevent any forceful interactions and allow them to get used to each other's scent. Or you can buy a cat house where they can play and live. You can find modern cat scratcher houses that will suit your home very well and that cats love very much here.

It can be one of the hardest things to do, but it's not impossible, and they're usually glad to have another friend join them.
