Comments (3)Here's your pictures, Lottie. You just have to click the html code to copy it, and then paste it here. When you preview the message you will see them. A couple of your links didn't work. I'm not sure about the color choice. And that doesn't mean I don't like it, I just struggle with picking my own colors that I can't help you with this. If you think it will look good, you should give it a try. You can buy a can of sample paint and try it out on a poster board that you can move around the room. A lot of people love the Wyeth Blue and Palladian Blue from BM. They seem like really nice colors. I totally agree with staining the island dark. You will love that. PLUS, if it looks incredible, you never know what Mr. Lottie might do next! Gel stain for all!!! We call this "Baby Steps". You may secretly have a plan but you give him only what he needs to know. If you like the look, you can secretly manipulate the situation so that Mr. Lottie thinks it was his idea to continue on and do the whole kitchen. Hey, I know a thing or two about expanding projects....lol Good luck, and the floor looks great. Bee...See MoreNeed help with dining room in new home. Blank slate waiting for help.

Comments (30)jess,,,,here is guide for you on hanging art. from the floor up, the CENTER of the art piece should be between 56-60" (center, not the bottom of the frame) . From the floor to center of the TV, should be about 58-60". eye level. everything in that room is hung for 7'6" humans. even the new one over the sofa is still too high. get a tape measure and mark 56" from the floor, onto the wall. now put your art or tv center on that mark. that's where it gets hung. (give or take an inch here or there) your tv needs to come down at least 8-12". the gray art piece over the desk, bring it down to where your tape marks are. as for the pictures you're choosing, art is personal. if you like it and it goes w/your colors and decor, get it. that small boob light is killing me. if you can't do a hanging light, do a semi flush or flush mount....See MoreNew Kitchen Light & Dining Room Flooring Help
Comments (3)Don’t try to put up another tacky fluorescent light fixture. If you want to DIY your only option may be an LED track light of some kind, but you’d really be better off doing as Karen suggested and getting an electrician in to put in some LED cans. As for flooring, it looks like more laminate bits up against the kitchen “tile” laminate so unless you want to continue the laminate/wood into the kitchen your only option (short of replacing the flooring throughout the whole house) is to put in porcelain or ceramic tile (NOT wood-look/like)....See MoreAnna (6B/7A in MD)
