We have a closet with those type of doors and I just used it as an excuse to use some funky glass bureau-type knobs. Actually we have it in two places, now that I think of it. In the kitchen I used knobs that were white enamel in the center and trimmed with brushed chrome to match the other doorknobs (which are plain brushed chrome). For our mudroom closet, I used funky oversized amber glass drawer pulls from Anthropologie. Depending on your decor/style, you could go crazy or just match your regular doorknobs. Also, depending on the size of your doors, regular-size knobs to match the others might look too large.

This sounds like something we could custom order for you. We can get bifold closet doors with wood are the edge of each "slab" and a mirror in the middle. So it wouldn't be a complete mirror front only, not sure what exactly you are looking for. It would look like the image below only a 4 or 2 door bifold unit depending on how large your opening is. I replaced the bi-fold closet doors in my bedroom (for my linen closet) with curtains (drapes) that I made from silk damask fabric that I happened to have in my sewing room, not being used. I also lined the drapes with silk - I get a lot of free fabric at work. I did not like the bi-fold doors for several reasons - one being the look, and another being that they would get stuck on my carpet. The damask that I used is a bit stiff, but it still works. I call them drapes because they are lined, but I hung them on a tension rod like curtains. How big is your opening? Mine is very narrow, since it is just a linen closet.

kudzu, there are no jambs. The pivot base is screwed right into the top and bottom of the door opening on the problem door; thus into the wood under the drywall at the top, and into the wood floor at the bottom. I just went and checked it. The base is secure top and bottom. It's the metal pivot going into the door that is wobbling. The door starts tilting at the top, where it starts hitting the side of the door opening at the top. When the people installing the doors installed them, I guess they didn't know that a solid door needed more. I ordered the doors custom made so I could stain them to match my kitchen, and they did say they'd never seen anything like them. Last time he replaced them, my husband just went to Menard's and bought them, so I don't know if they were labeled for load capacity. Said if these failed, we were out of options. What kind of load capacity should I be looking for? Should I just weigh the door when we take it off?
