The chair covers are only temporary...none of that stays when the house will be staged for selling; just looking for a wall color that will work with the dark room and floor color. Sorry, I should have mentioned the mantle is being removed and exchanged for a shelf mantle (great suggestion, though!). The ceiling fan has an uplight. I may rent some furniture for staging to sell, but I'm not planning to purchase many upgraded materials before listing the house. I do have new, clear, glass pendant lights and a new chandelier for the dining room. Do you think the SW Extra White would work on all the walls? Yes, all the wall decor is personal, and will be removed before the house is listed. The color on the walls/ceiling is SW Muslin...I hate it! I really want to paint it and am willing to either do it myself or pay someone even for the time I have left in the house, just to freshen up the place and make me feel better about it before listing it.

IMO interior paint colors should be chosen to work with what you have in the spaces not some 1860s colors that don’t relate to your life. I like historic colors for exteriors but not inside.

You've told us what you hate. But what do you like? Hard to suggest paint colours when we don't know your taste. We're I you, I'd cancel the painter for now. Paint is the last choice. Get your floors how you want them. Make sure your lighting isn't too yellow (unless you prefer it that way) so that your colours will be true both in the daytime and at night. If you're going to replace area rugs, do that. The colours you choose there will have a huge influence on what paint colour to choose

I would go with warm off-whites with red-yellow undertones. or warm whites.
