Fire Pit Table
Comments (14)Your privacy issue sounds all too common for those who have homes set close together. There are several ways to address the problem, from installing an over head arbor $$$, installing sail shades $$, to planting large immediate gratification trees and hedges $$$ to simple umbrellas and panel trellises $. Sometimes doubling up on the type of screening works such as purchasing an umbrella while waiting for the shrubs and trees to grow in. In the two areas that I have privacy concerns I used two methods : planting and structure. Using Oldhami bamboo ( a clumping timber bamboo ) and Mexican weeping bamboo in one location and attaching bamboo roll up shades on an overhead arbor. In the photo below you can see how lattice can work as a good screen when used with shrubs planted behind on on the lattice : From Outdoor Kitchens and Dining areas From portfolioMay08.jpg combination of fencing and planting for a home in a closely placed development : From portfolioMay08.jpg For this patio , which receives a lot of intense weather conditions we decided to use metal instead of wood to create a privacy screen : From portfolioMay08.jpg This older photo of my back patio shows my simple overhead arbor with the dense covering of wisteria that offers 'overhead look in privacy'. It's a somewhat dirty vine to deal with. This particular wisteria blooms all year round , hence I am constantly having to sweep up the faded blooms off the ground. It also needs to be cut back heavily once a year to keep it from producing too much shade. From Outdoor Room...See MoreWhat would YOU choose a Firepit or a Hot tub?
Comments (52)If you cant do both id go hot tub. The benefits of hot water therapy daily are life changing. Better sleep, imprived circulation, increased mobility, etc. Etc. I cant tell you how many customers come in and tell me how the hot tub literally changed their lives. If you look at it as a toy like a boat or a pool table....others are right the novelty will wear off and it will become a pain. But if you commit to using it and realize the good that it does for your body and mind and see it as a way to feel better abd live better, you might look back and see that it was one fo the best purchases you ever made. In saying that id definitey try to fit both, cuz fire pits are awesome!...See Morefire pit option
Comments (11)You are going to need to put a proper base layer under the pavers so they stay stable since you are in a cold area. Why not make it somewhat thicker so the pavers cover the hatch and then you can put the fire pit wherever you want it rather than having it dictate the fire pit location? Or is the hatch in your ideal fire pit location already? With a well-prepared base, the patio can be in any configuration that covers the area, and the fire pit also has flexibility of location. Or if that isn't the best location for the patio, make it something else such as a garden bed with a realistic fake rock over the hatch and locate the fire pit and patio in the ideal area. I guess I am asking if that is truly the best spot for the fire pit and patio since I have no way of determining that from the photo. If it isn't, find a different solution for the hatch....See MoreWhat style fire pit would look good with my patio?
Comments (5)We suggest going with a round option for a focal point that will tie the room together. If safety is a priority, make sure the burner is UL listed, meaning it will have undergone heavy safety testing. For a simple modern look to match your outdoor room, we suggest the Stonefire gas fire pit. If you want a unique look that subtly contrasts with the brown and pulls the neutral tones from the cushions, we suggest ourCove 12" gas fire pit or 20" gas fire pit. All options come with a matching burner cover to use as a functional table. Local stores would help you find a great deal: here....See MoreSusan Highland USDA Zone 9b
