Picture frame ledges - height
Comments (12)Hey guys! Thanks for the input. I'll lower them but I do want to keep the shelves there. I think adding more shelves might be too much for that area and it would make one of them too close to the light switch. I did tinker with the idea of photos on the wall at one point but prefer the shelves. Also, for some reason DH is very anti photos in a wall arrangement. I showed him a bunch of well done inspiration photos and he felt they looked cluttered. As far as the other side of the hall, I'm not sure if I'll eventually do anything with that or not. I feel like it currently looks lop sided but I don't want to feel cluttered either. I do know I wouldn't put shelves on the other side too....See MoreGallery arrangement of pictures above sofa
Comments (19)Ah, shucks. Thanks for all the kind words. They only thing I consciously did was to separate the cream-matted prints and to keep the large rectangular ones from being side-by-side. Overall, I think I got lucky. Palimpsest - the finial is great. After it was stained my son conceded that it looked less like a dum-dum lollipop than it did before. Teenagers certainly have a way of brightening one's day! I bought the tiny picture a long time ago at a thrift store and threw it in a drawer. It is a real piece of junk but I like it for some reason. It is an early Victorian? street scene in a rusty frame. The dark oil in the fancy frame did not seem to "go" and has found a home in the dining room....See MorePicture Size above couch
Comments (6)Judging by the painting you've shown those will be really cool pictures. I'm glad you're not afraid of color! The size you show on the wall seems perfect except I would place them slightly further apart. You can use some of the colors in the paintings for pillows and other accessories, and also an area rug if you're planning on one. I love the warm blue of your wall color....See MoreWould Picture Ledges Work Here?
Comments (13)I would mount just one ledge, which leaves room for items on the credenza as well as larger peices of art on the ledge. I'd use a white one so it matches your trim color and doesn't stand out as much so the focus can remain on the art you use. I'd figure out exactly what console you're going to use under the TV first before I added anything though. I know you're planning to get a longer console to use under the TV, but your credenza seems like it would be a perfect size. Have you considered using it under the TV and then gettting a taller shelving unit or armoire type peice for that back wall?...See MoreJAN MOYER
