Needing some finishing touches for craftsman bedroom
So we’re wrapping up our craftsman bedroom restoration and I‘ve got this big wall to decorate.
We have these white candle lanterns that I was thinking about hanging above our nightstands.
I know I need a work of art above the bed but what scale would work best?
Wall color: BM Birds egg
Furniture: Antiques from our tour in Germany

Comments (9)I indeed noticed that your walls are pale blue. The art I posted has a lot of blue in it. The art you choose can be your inspiration point for completing the room. For instance, with this particular print, you could bring out the bluegreen or green of the picture & add a coverlet at the end of the bed to pull the colors into the room. I personally would avoid the ubiquitous blue/brown combination, while it is still a beautiful combo. But if that's what speaks to you, then perhaps this one that I've linked to is more of what you're thinking of color-wise. Perhaps a valance or some curtain panels in a pink print like used in that toss pillow on the bed would add a nice touch to the window. Comments (29)Thanks for your input flo, I was not needing input on my wood wall but nice of you to share your opinion. The reason I did not do the window wall is because it would have required a great deal of extra time to make it work around the Windows. As you can see its cased in drywall, I could not just go over the drywall with the wood, I would have had to rip the drywall back etc. I am a stay at home mom who enjoy small Reno projects and not an interior designer or contractor. There was a large crack in the drywall on the wall I did in wood,, so for me it made sense to pick this wall to cover. I love my room and how it turned out, simply looking for some others to share some ideas of wall decor not diss what I have done. 3 years agohow lovely to have gotten some fabulous pieces from your stay in germany. I think you have a few different options for art above the bed, you could make that wall a gallery wall, or just a couple pieces or one piece above the bed. generally if you have one large piece you want it to be just a bit narrower than the width of your bed. i think a gallery of pictures of the German countryside would be fabulous on that wall

3 years agoLovely room. I immediately thought the same as houssaon. I would look for or find someone to make you a quilt to hang over the bed in an arts and crafts pattern.

misc./Houzz posts · More InfoRe-posting the second photo suggested by tedbixby! The lamps are perfect for the furniture which already makes this a very special room. And the window suggests you could hang a similar piece of framed glass above the bed for a nod to your craftsman home. Perhaps more meaningful would be the suggestion of three rectangular prints, using photos you took on your trip . Or...how about three prints of individual flowers from Germany, one being the lovely edelweiss.
