Wow that is a huge space for wine and without photos i have no idea. To me a wine room already has many colors happening I do not think shades of the same metal would be an issue. I would not add bronze or white to the mix . But I really need some pics

Oops! My measurements were in inches - I did not convert to feet before I squared! Correct measurement is 79+/- sq. ft. Demolition for remodel will not begin until next week. Before pic of back wall - sorry no lighting in there now. Existing wine racking is being replaced with custom built on left wall and metal racks on right wall. Back wall will have full width bottom cabinet with floating shelves on wall above and 3-4 sconces. Back wall is 9.3' wide - Side walls are 8.5' deep. Ceiling height is 8'.

Sconces only come in polished nickel or antique brass. 'Monopoint' spots are in bronze, satin nickel or white. Metal wine racks are in black, brushed nickel, or chrome.

Could we mix bronze

spots with brass sconces and black metal wall racks? Trying to maintain a simple and uncluttered look. Thank you for your advice!

I don't really see a sconce in your attached lights, just two different kinds of down lights. I suspect if your overhead lights are more retiring, like the dark finish shown, that would be fine, with the visual focus on the lights down at eye level -- but I think you will want lights that shine up and down for the latter.

I would agree that bronze for the spots is probably good depending on the ceiling finish, if the ceiling is white, I would be inclined to go satin. Chrome is not my favorite finish as it shows the most 'clouding" when it gets dirty and does dull with time, I would stay in the satin finish. Are you married to the sconces? or any of the lights for that matter? Who makes them?

I see there is a switch on the sconces will they be wired to a wall switch or will you manually use them, fingerprints are a nightmare on chrome.

Can I also ask why you are not using recessed lighting?

This is the fixture that doesn't work for the room and bronze is no better.

Thank you! The sconce is listed as a "wall sconce" by Aerin Lighting. It also comes in Antique Brass and it pivots - may be helpful over floating shelves. It will be hardwired. I've been searching for a sconce that is somewhat affordable and does not look like a bathroom or entry/hallway fixture, nor industrial. I liked the clean lines of this one, but am certainly open to suggestions.

We cannot use can lights due to the roof line above the ceiling - existing can lights nearly caught on fire due to space restrictions (and I suspect moisture). They no longer work, but cannot be removed without tearing out the ceiling, hence a remodel.

The ceiling will be stained somewhat dark. I like bronze spots best, but worry about mixing colors. If you advise that bronze spots will work with brass sconces, then that is the direction I would prefer over the various nickel finishes. Will it be OK to use black metal wine racks if we use bronze spots? The spots are by Pure Edge Lighting and called "Rebel" I really need and look forward to your professional advice! Thank you!

The wall scone does not extend out far enough to accommodate ANY SHELVING. You'll require a swing arm sconce with an extension of a minimum of 12"

Is there a reason you want directional lighting on both the ceiling and the wall?

You can also purchase what is called a "wafer" these look like recessed lights but are in fact pancake led look alike, that would be my go-to on an 8ft ceiling.
