Mixing metal finishes
Comments (6)I would have suggested polished nickel for your shower hardware because I personally dislike the way the darker clips and hinges stand out against lighter colored tile in a shower. My eyes go right to those things (which are not the most attractive!) Here's an example of what I mean... Comments (1)Ten bucks no one would notice it but you. When I see a lamp, unless it's a pair on each end of a sofa, I see them as they are. I never notice if the other lights match or not. Comments (6)Please excuse the elementary way I have posted the links. Still new and trying to figure out how to upload pics! over stairs: http://www.arhaus.com/chandeliers/barclay/ over dormer: http://www.lightingdirect.com/meyda-tiffany-21211-transitional-down-lighting-pendant-from-the-moravian-stars-collection/p43300 over sink: http://www.zgallerie.com/p-10315-eclipse-chandelier.aspx I am worried this is too many styles/finishes, but love each in it's spot. I generally stay within the same metals and woods in my decor so for me this would be a risk! At any given location you can only see 2 of the fixtures at the same time. For example kitchen orb and stair's wood or dormer's star and stair's wood. I do not have photos yet sorry, but hope you get the general idea....See MoreMixing Metal Finishes
Comments (10)I had too much wine? you lost me! Antique brass in the kitchen is fine with stainless anything and every thing, I'd match the luster on the brass. .I would not add a third finish in the kitchen. If you want polished nickel in the kitchen? Eliminate brass totally in the kitchen and stick to stainless as your second metal. As to you can do "whatever you want"? O course you can! But you can choose to be miserable too : ) In other words....... two metals. In whatever place. Not three...See Morecoloradosherry
