No building, painting, etc., but just cleaned out my closets and got a large

donation for the Agrace thrift store. Don't know why it takes me so long

to do this...it always makes me feel extra good when I finish. :) Had clothes,

some bedding and draperies and still have some shoes to add to the box.

We are in renovation mode, so a few projects going on.

My sewing machines are in Cathedral City, and so I have to wait until I go back there to resume my sewing projects.

Here in Los Angeles I need to do some gardening and pull up weeds, but I have to wait for the weather to cool down a bit. Yesterday it was 94°, which is too hot for yard work. I still have to water a lot of plants, however.

I am stripping wall paper from my kitchen. The two really hot days I was very motivated..today it is more moderate so after two hours in the garden wasn't overly ready to face the glue removal..

Indoor/basement projects for hot days:

I will be building the quail hutch.

I will be building the cart for the patio cooking area.

I will be setting up basement housing for incoming baby chicks.

Hopefully I'll get a lot done outdoors in the mornings.

Its 89 degrees here, yesterday too. I took advantage of the hot weather to spray paint some metal pieces for a cover I am making for my strawberry bed. Baked enamel finish :).

I have too much to do outside so will be working before work outside and this weekend. But, loving the hot weather.

Two years ago I picked up FREE granite off CL. Just now installing it in the mud room. DH cut the sink hole 2" too big.....yikes! Had to scramble to order a new...bigger sink. Kohler says 42 business days to put one into production....then ship it. So.......I am now without my mud room/laundry room sink until.....next August....or September. ☺

End of the month I have a tenant leaving. Long story short....we have a dog damaged wood windowsill. I have a piece of white composite granite I'll replace it with....and charge him for it. That's my next indoor project

My outdoor projects....replacing dead-Winter killed plants. I kept the receipts. I'm returning them. I'd like to be able to sit outside by a garden....but I have to plant one first.....then keep it alive. ☺

Lucille....I would love to see photos of YOUR project.

I have bedroom furniture to paint/stain. I want to find another chest but if I don't soon I'll paint the one I have. Nightstands are probably going to get a stain refresh. What kind of chalk paint do you use, Lucille? Or do you make your own?

I use several different brands, Chalked, Annie Sloan, I have a bunch still left from the last time I painted, will have to go look and see.I remember making my own, these days their are plenty of high quality commercial paints. Will probably do a rose floral transfer on top.

I've begun assembling a heavy-duty cat tree. Based on my experience yesterday, it's going to take me a while. Hard on my back! I looked at the remaining steps in the process this morning and suspect it's really a two-person job. But I will persevere. After that I have a long list of indoor jobs and projects to work on. Having a project is motivating in itself.
