Comments (8)I have had Caesarstone for a couple of years now and I'll share some of the tips I learned from them and I've gotten over the years. -As much as you can, wipe up the spills. If you let it sit, you can soak it with warm water and dishwashing liquid. -Don't scrape hardened spills with razors or knives. Scrape them with a plastic ice pick. -Don't use abrasive liquids or solutions during cleaning. -Always use cutting boards and trivets whenever you're cutting vegetables or meat and when you need to remove a hot pot or hot pan. -Lastly, after cleaning the countertop, wipe down everything with a paper towel to prevent having watermarks. Comments (19)@kel_kat5 - It is a mistake to think that Dayana’s situation is representative of granite counters. Most importantly, the Bahamas White granite she pictured looks like it’s in the family of the Imperial White or Kashmir granites, which is notorious for behaving more like marble and staining easily because it is more absorptive than other granites, I.e. porous. If one is looking for a granite with a white background, check out the granites in the family of Alaska White, White Springs, Bianco Delicatus, and Lennon, which are pretty bullet-proof. I’ve had different granites in different homes, and none even needed sealing, and were carefree, and we didn’t baby them. There are a thousand granites out there, and they should not all be lumped under the same umbrella. Quartz is a great choice if you want a more uniform appearance to your counters. There are stories on this forum of Quartz staining, scorching and chipping, and having resin pools. I actually think Quartz is a wonderful choice for counters. Comments (27)Thank you CW. I have decided against the leathered look. The beach house photo in my original post does not looked leathered like some of these other photos I am seeing. I believe that kitchen counter description is wrong. By the way, I am OCD and was not offended by your statement. Finger prints would bother me, too! I prefer to think that I am OTT... Comments (6)Thanks Sammy and JuneKnow. They have already cut the countertop (they came to install it, but one of the cabinets is damaged and is getting replaced first...in some ways we were lucky that we got to see it before the install). I am hoping the issue is they did the wrong mix/quartz, ie the Montclair White. It's shocking how different both design and color are from the sample. I'd expect that with granite, not quartz. The back of the samples say there may be "slight variation", but is representative of color and material. We've paid 50% at this point. Ugh. Missing having a kitchen sink!...See Morepeter schulberg
3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoThank you for the feedback. Here's a photo of the blue staining. It's along the top front of the counter. Very pale blue-- and you can see strap marks. This supplier does have all the large pieces out in the yard. So feeling it is sun damage, but blue color is a bit odd. Any advice is very much appreciated. The second photo here shows the line of blue more clearly.
