Comments (5)Regardless of which brand you buy, its really a good idea to be certain that local service will be available for it, both during the initial warranty and after. Depending on where you live, this may limit your brand options. Although I was far luckier than warmfridge with the same range (built a month or so later), I agree that local service availability is a necessity. Beyond that, I think most everyone here who has cooked with both induction and regular electric (or gas for that matter) would prefer induction. So if you can find someone to service it, I'd certainly recommend an induction range over an electric one. Lots of posts here about this....See MoreRecent Viking Range Installs/Owners
Comments (7)Sorry to hear you are having troubles get a response out of Viking ...But if I were you I would try the distributor ..If they are anything like mine , Viking is their only product line and their showroom mgr very responsive to any questions ...And after talking to their service dept i feel they are equally responsive....I had my doubts about Viking before spending two days at their location talking to them , cooking with them and getting to know them on a first name basis..They sold me on Viking and I placde my order for the racing red induction range which should arrive in a couple of weeks ......See MoreAmerican Range Performer - experiences of recent buyers?
Comments (164)My Performer range has been in use daily for almost two years (plus an intermittent year prior to that). I am really happy with it and the cooking results. I have also found it light-years easier that the Wolf AG to clean. (I did not replace the Wolf, which I liked, but we moved.) It had seemed to me that the oven might be turning on and off while in use more than in the first year lately, but perhaps not--I am also the one who suddenly looks at a mole and things, "how long has it been that color?" despite seeing it every day. Murch, I read the negative reviews you linked to. One confusion is that people will report problems with the ovens, the ranges, and the company all in one thread. The ovens seem to be more problematic than the ranges. Perhaps I have been lucky, but would not change my decision. I agree totally that the company should stand behind their products, but have not had any to deal with. should add--the Burners do poof when extinguishing, at least the 25k, but not as much as the Wolf. But I had the older semi-open Wolf....See MoreRecent experience with Bosch800 cooking?
Comments (3)I have a Bosch 800 single wall oven and a Bosch 800 electric cooktop right now. I love my oven and tolerate the cooktop (because it's an electric cooktop!) and have had no problems with either in the 6 years I've had them. I am building a new house and will be putting in a Bosch 800 Induction cooktop in my new build. The only reason I won't be putting in a Bosch oven is because I rarely use an oven and feel I'd rather spend for a less expensive oven. Most of my cooking is done on the cooktop or will be done on the barbecue. We are in FL so can barbecue all year long. However, I have found the oven to do an excellent job when I do use it....See MoreRelated Professionals
