I think colors are too contrasting and white is too stark.

Is that a side light or a separate fixed window left of the front door?

The two front windows don't open?

So ... you DO want to keep the window trim and door trim and fascia black?

If the gray siding you have is "too dark" for your taste, then those browns will not be an improvement to your gray.

If you want a lighter color for the siding, there appears to be a creamy off white within your brick colors. Would that work for you or do you want a more drastic change?

Whatever color you choose for your siding, such as off white or light blue, don't add the contrasting colors around your garage doors. Aside from black window trim, door trim and fascia, keep all the painted exterior painted walls the same color.

While the darker brown in your pics, don't work that well -- especially as a two tone exterior -- a tan (without pink or yellow hue) might. Perhaps Woven Wicker:

I like Pacific Blue (or Cape Code blue) -- but these would be even darker than your gray. In my opinion, however, these darker blues would give your home a more up-beat and interesting vibe than gray. You could paint your front door a dark bold cobalt blue.

You might also consider a sage green and paint your front door a bold dark emerald green.

Is painting your only objective or are you open to a suggestion for curb appeal?:

Have you considered adding some "finishing" feature(s) that provides texture and interest to your two story tower? Some ideas for consideration:

Extend the overhang and add a wrap around feature.

Add a different texture exterior wall in the gable end -- perhaps vertical board & batten above a horizontal trim board.

Make one or both front windows bay windows or garden windows.

Make the upstairs window a patio door or French door w/faux balcony. This one could be created in natural cedar wood over a tan exterior.

@suezbell The windows on the front do not open. To the right of the door is another fixed window. Creamy white is definitely what I was considering. The white on these is Dove White which looks a little greyish on my screen, but I would prefer creamy to suit the brick.

The browns on the mock-ups are meant to be cedar... so they will be a bit more yellow/orange - like the picture I attached here of our deck area. I see what you are saying about it being dark still, but that is why I think it needs to be broken up on the large front wall. Adds depth, too.

I was wondering about the trim, besides that on the windows and door. I love the black windows and trim, and I will likely keep it. I will trim the corners the color that I go with - if that matches your recommendation.

@Celery. Visualization, Rendering images Agreed the white on this is too stark. It is hard to tell the nuances on a screen. I am going for a creamy white or grey white. I plan on doing some serious testing before settling on the color, but I am fairly set on incorporating cedar.

Ohhhhhhhhh boy! Not happy with options, need to think better.

In all candor, at first glance I thought your house was stucco rather than cedar because on my screen, it appeared to be all one smooth color. Your wood has both angles and straight vertical boards in the center but they are not obvious until the original picture was enlarged.

Consider "breaking it up" with a feature or texture -- something other than colors -- wood that is that is left natural stained cedar wood.

You might consider some of these options;

a wider and more elaborate "frame" around each window's existing black framing.

a cedar "cornice" above each window

cedar "wainscoting" below each window

if adding above and below each window, perhaps have the features connected by a pair of vertical cedar boards, doubling the width of the window frame, adding cedar to the black

framing the vertical side corners of the tower with cedar boards, with or without horizontal cedar boards at the ceiling level for each floor.

cedar shutters for each window

pressed metal art -- preferably something already painted for exterior use and/or that you could repaint as needed with exterior Rust Reformer and RustO'leum 2x spray paint.

If you're trimming the corners wrapping them in vertical boards only to paint them in the same color s the siding, is there a functional reason for adding the trim?

It would not be a DIY task to change/add to the roof line, but that would certainly change the rather stark look of the tower.

Decorative "Gable Brackets" in natural cedar might be something to consider.
