I don't know how to give you a large table without covering the pattern of the rug, unless it's glass and that doesn't fit the function or your needs.

The multipurpose cocktail ottomans are not easy to find, but you need a large one with a sliding table IMO.

You could also consider a table with a separate ottoman

I agree with the concept of multiple tables, one table for each couch or nested tables. some other ideas below. i also agree a side table between the two chairs would help too.

Ottoman style coffee tables are really the best option when you have children. Plus it’s a fashionable design trend, in general.

I think you are not wanting to cover rug? .I would not worry about that.

Your furniture and rug are pretty bold and I don’t know if this would be your style, but I am thinking of the idea of bringing in another bold, unexpected pattern in ottoman.

@freedomplace1, thank you. Yes, I was looking at some large ottoman options and think it would be a good change for us from our current table. I am thinking of toning down the patterns / prints of the curtains and rugs and going for a plain / neutral large ottoman.

I did like this harmony ottoman from west elm, not sure about the orange color (too matchy matchy) and a little too pricey.

I really Ike the colors and patterns that you have in the space. It is not so easy to combine patterns the way you have done. You seem to have a natural flair for this.

I had also thought of a solid ottoman in an orange, as being an interesting possibility.

i like the overstock piece, also. I was thinking, with your white sofa + red pieces, a color like this might also work.
