That's a lovely room. I like your wall color. What color is it? Are you putting a rug in there? I think those drapes would look nice, but if you're planning on getting a rug, I'd probably get that first so they didn't clash. Since your light fixture has black metal, I'd probably go with a black metal rod.

Hey There: Window Coverings and the design of the house must go together and furthermore you must keep the function in mind. In you case I do recommend to layer the window coverings... As I can see in your pictures, you might have a privacy problem if your don't close your coverings, but of course your don't want to sit all day in the dark. So as a first line of defense (literally spoken of course) you go with minimalistic pleated or honeycomb shades. They fit nicely into the window casing and operate bottom up and top down. This will give you privacy and light management and allow you to look outside and enjoy nature around your home. As the second layer you can opt for curtains to the side - either operable or just decorative. This combination is not to heavy to take over the rooms. All of your choices are nice and the floral is pretty. I am not clear on whether this will be for drapes and/or shades. The two smaller windows look like they are more candidates for shades or blinds versus drapes. Plus there appears to be a fireplace in the center of those two windows - and the whole setup there really doesn’t seem to have adequate room for drapery panels; at least not for adequate panels. You would like a sort of laid back, welcoming feel to the space and you are in California. I would recommend something along the lines of bamboo shades on all the windows, or maybe woven wood type shades or blinds - there are lots of great textures and styles in those. You could also go with some simple Roman shades. But the idea is - something neutral/open/airy on the windows - and then bring in some pattern and maybe a touch of more vibrant color in pillows and other accessories. I don’t know if you are planning on art for the space - but that could have color, also. But it could also be black and white photographic art - maybe a gallery wall. Or metal or fabric art. Whatever art you love and I really do not see art as an accessory. Art is art. Below: Not your color scheme here - but all the throw pillows + the throw could work with your colors and design.

The piano looks awkward overlapping the windows. 2 chairs would be much better in that location. Pianos must NOT be placed: Near a window. Windows can throw off heat, let cold air and warm air in, and are subject to changes in atmospheric conditions, temperature, and humidity from the outside, daily. These constant changes greatly cause your piano's tuning stability to suffer, and cause parts to swell or to shrink, which result in a poor mechanical condition and performance, whereas your piano's preservation suffers overall, at the very least.
