Before you start anything, please have an overall plan. Doing things in bits and pieces doesn't end up with a unified look! First order of business is to figure out what your style is. In top search box, put in (one at a time) different styles such as casual, eclectic, transitional, mid century modern, etc. Identify what you like and don't like. Get your inspiration from a favorite accessory, art, or piece of fabric. Get a thin binder with loose leaf paper, insertable tab pocket dividers, the following categories: ideas, budget, stores, timeline, etc. Create a table of contents at the beginning of the binder. Please give us more pictures and a floor plan with measurements. Are your couches returnable? I have an eclectic look with very classic pieces - straight clean lines - nothing trendy. My couch is a custom investment in a light blue tweed from Ethan Allen. My chair is the same style, but in a color between royal blue and dark blue velveteen. On the other side of the living room I have a mission style entertainment center in cherry with matching side shelves also from Ethan Allen. I have off white walls, wall to wall carpeting, and off white ceiling. Wall art is mostly impressionism, however, after having it on my walls for 20 years, I'm sick of it and wanting them all changed to mostly modern! Can't wait to see how your room progresses!

Can you stop the order? (is it for three matching pieces? any pics or links to them?) If you can stop the order, I think you will be much happier with the end result. As mentioned above,start with a measured furniture plan.

Do you have pics of the furniture? I’m not a big fan of all matching pieces . Figure out where you want your furniture and what fits properly (size wise!) then pick style.

Blue fades like crazy, and matching pieces are not in favor these days. I always select my large pieces (sofa, etc) in a very neutral color that I will not tire of and that can be changed easily with pillows and throws. Sofa and loveseat can match, but perhaps a leather or other option for the chair.

I like pieces that are not matching though I find myself drawn to more classical styles such as the two Chesterfield loveseats in emerald green velvet, a wonderful wing chair in a kind of soft, almost sage green, and a rich cream sink-into-it chair and ottoman. The lamps are a mix of table and floor and modern and traditional.

I would suggest looking at various styles of sofas online and getting a feel for what you like: straight or rolled arms, low or high arms, loose pillows on the back or none, and so on. Once you have narrowed down your choices to fewer than five, go out and try them out in stores. You don't have to buy from the stores but you'll get a strong sense of comfort.

At the same time, think seriously about your wall color. You may want to stay with a neutral to allow a brightly colored sofa to stand out. Or maybe a dramatic color with neutral furniture (black paint, rich cream furniture in different textures and subtle shades). I definitely agree with no matching sets of furniture.

Based on what I said at the beginning you can probably tell I ignore the advice to go neutral with the bigger items and bring in color with accessories. I love it because I took my time to discover the color I truly love and never get tired of: emerald.

No loveseats, please! They are a booger to arrange and usually only seat on person unless you have a courting couple in the home all the time. Two club chairs are a much better choice, but don't get them to match the sofa. If you keep the scale appropriate, your room might handle four chairs. May we see the wall right of the tan chair that has the art? Can TV go there, sofa where TV is and a grouping of four chairs to form a "U" with the sofa. The two chairs near the TV can be swivels to turn and watch.

No to all matching pieces, loveseats are really just expensive chairs that are not even comfortable. You do not mention how many seats you need on a daily basis. You need to post a to scale floor plan, I for sure am not getting any feel for the space at all.

Is this a walk-through space? Maybe you can set it up such that there is a 3' walk-way between the wall with TV on it and back of a sofa (facing the pretty outdoors). Then 2 small footprint swivel chairs (either 2 by fireplace or 1 each flanking the long window). TV on the wall with art currently and move that art to the "walk-way wall." Then no one walks through TV viewing and it's a cozier space for conversation and all seating can take advantage of TV and fireplace. Of course, this is a shot in the dark since we don't have layout or measurements!

Given the size of your room from the photos, I think all three pieces will overwhelm room, not allow for any flexibility and could be boring. (Just an FYI: Someone mentioned blue fades, but it could be dependant on fabric. I had a blue velvet couch for over 20 years).

- If you love the couch, only purchase it, but would a sectional work or have you considered a neutral couch with blue accents in room?

- First is to decide on couch and only buy that.

- I would definitely paint a neutral color for a calmer space, but also to allow for future accent colors.

- Do a floor plan, ie: does the tv have to go on that wall and put couch there instead of blocking the view? Then decide on other pieces.

It’s hard to suggest without seeing whole room and if you could provide a picture as well of the couch you are getting, I’m sure you’ll get lots of helpful advice.
