You wound up with gray and then installed a dark gray granite. What color were you expecting?

At this point you could go light gray Or white. Use a platinum grout (very, very light) to tie in the gray counter.

This is my Daughter’s tiny kitchen. See how subtle the grout is? She has white cabinets and black absolute granite.

I did my cabinets in charcoal grey and after replacing appliances and countertops I do no like the cabinets. I’ve decided to redo my cabinets in light grey. I’m doing all white subtitles with white grout.

Kelly, I've painted my kitchen cabinets...let's just say more than once. I know how much work it takes , and how frustrating it is when the color isn't right. I repainted mine the next week...and had a 3 month old baby...that was not fun. How about starting with the uppers only? Pick a very light gray (since you already decided on that) with plenty of difference from the charcoal color, get your wall color just right , and see if the lowers look good? Or do a couple of painted poster boards both uppers and lowers...take your time.

Did you sand and prime them? I think I’m going to have to prime this go round since they are dark and I’m going with a light grey this time.

Gee I think it looks nice. How about painting the island a white rather than the cream to play better with you counters and see if that pulls it together.

I really like your cabinet color as is. I would do your tile and paint island white then see how you feel.

I like it, too. I'd wait until the backsplash is finished and live with the color for a while. It might grow on you, even though it's not what you expected.

You said you'd 'have to prime this go round'. Did you prime them before painting?

I think they look nice! What color or shade of gray were you aiming for? If you do re-paint them, I would absolutely prime them before painting a lighter shade.

The paint kit I used didn’t not require priming. I wanted charcoal grey and they ended up looking more blue to me. I am going to see what it looks like once the backsplash is in and go from there. This is an update picture with the new painted walls and granite counter tops and my new appliances.

I like that color- it looks a lot like Ben Moore‘s Kendall Charcoal, which I’ve used a lot of. It really changes depending on what’s around it. I think if you found a nice runner with cool colors you’d see less blue- i think it’s the golden tones in the floor that bring out the blue in the cabinet paint. Also the yellow in the wall where the backsplash will go Is helping the blue stand out. Guess this is all to say just wait before you repaint- I think it will look a lot different when the room is put together. I think it’s going to look really nice.

That looks fine. I thought you went from light counter to dark gray!
